stlcard25ParticipantHow can Miller swing at that? Man, we would have had bases full no out!
It’s this team. I don’t know if it’s mental or what, but while their strikeouts aren’t crazy high overall, it feels like they’re the worst team in the league at striking out with runners on.
September 18, 2020 at 8:10 pm #140788DeJong delivers! cards lead 1-0.
September 18, 2020 at 8:11 pm #140789Nice job DeJong. Way to keep battling!

stlcard25ParticipantThere we go, Paul! Let’s get some more runs here, O’Neill.
September 18, 2020 at 8:13 pm #140791
stlcard25ParticipantO’Neill crushes one…right into a double play. It’s insane how little he’s gotten from his contact this year.
September 18, 2020 at 8:13 pm #140792Tough break there on the ball hit by O’Neill. Miller messed up what might have been a big inning, although even if O’Neill’s hit goes through you would have had Carpenter and Carlson next. That is probably two Ks.

stlcard25ParticipantI 100% knew that Reynolds was going to hit a HR if the inning got to him. Cards now on the rocks as they trail it 2-1.
September 18, 2020 at 8:24 pm #140794Wow. Into the Allegheny.
Shake it off Ponce.
September 18, 2020 at 8:30 pm #140795That looked like a good pitch. I wonder what Ponce de Leon is doing that causes him to give up HR’s on what seem to be good pitches. It seems like this happens to him once in every game he pitches. The one that Reynolds hit came in headed to the left corner of the plate, then tailed back in and wound up about 6 inches in from the corner but almost high enough to be called a ball. I just don’t get it. That should have been a swing and miss pitch but it ended up over the wall. Does anybody know what PDL is doing wrong for this to happen?

ParticipantNice hit, Dylan.
September 18, 2020 at 8:42 pm #140797A. Miller slinging it like he’s not afraid of that playoff bubble. Nice.
September 18, 2020 at 8:49 pm #140798
stlcard25ParticipantThe first two on here. I’d ask Miller to bunt. Cannot risk another K.
September 18, 2020 at 8:51 pm #140799
stlcard25ParticipantA walk is also OK. Bases loaded with no one out. It’s Dejong time.
September 18, 2020 at 8:55 pm #140800Nice situational hitting. Way to go Paulie.
Keep battling.
September 18, 2020 at 8:55 pm #140801
stlcard25ParticipantTie game, and the Cards advance both runners. O’Neill with a chance to be the hero.
September 18, 2020 at 8:56 pm #140802
stlcard25ParticipantO’Neill grounds one to the 3B, who chucks it over the catcher and the Cards take the lead. Still 1 out and first and third.
September 18, 2020 at 8:58 pm #140803
stlcard25ParticipantCarp up. He’s 0 for his last 20. His heat map on Gameday is awful. 6 of 9 zones are cold blue and only three are even neutral.
September 18, 2020 at 8:59 pm #140804
stlcard25ParticipantWhat a mess…another bad throw, this time by Josh Bell. The Cards go up 4-2.
September 18, 2020 at 9:02 pm #140805
stlcard25ParticipantDylan Carlson with the 3 run bomb!! 7-2 Cardinals!
September 18, 2020 at 9:04 pm #140806First hit of the 5 run frame is a long one compliments of the kid….7-2 Good guys

ParticipantCarlson’s going to take over CF from Henrietta in 2021.
September 18, 2020 at 9:07 pm #140808Henrietta won’t go down without a fight, Cranny.
September 18, 2020 at 9:10 pm #140809Carlson!
September 18, 2020 at 9:11 pm #140810Good job by Carlson to cap off the inning. I hope he can keep this up. If he shows he is ready, that can help the team to maybe make a trade this winter to improve more.
September 18, 2020 at 9:21 pm #140811
stlcard25ParticipantThe Cards take game 2 and get back to .500. Neither game was pretty, but it works.
