O’Neill again. There’s some pop in LF and CF, along with outstanding defense.September 18, 2020 at 4:07 pm #140706jj-cf-stlParticipantPaid - Annual
scoring every inning, nice boys!
O’Neill and Brad Miller now lead the club with 7 HR’s each, Goldy at 6 HR’sSeptember 18, 2020 at 4:25 pm #140707
Good to see the offense come out and score a few runs. Hopefully they keep their foot on the gas all night.September 18, 2020 at 4:30 pm #140708
DeJong should have fielded that grounder with the glove up instead of trying the back hand. But I am sure he knows that. 🙂September 18, 2020 at 4:34 pm #140709
The defense has let Carlos down this inning, and he’s obliged by doing all he can to let the Pirates back into the game. The tying run comes to the plate.September 18, 2020 at 4:36 pm #140710
Martinez’ command is not the best, but his pitches have a lot of movement. Looks like he has no-hit stuff, but he cannot consistently keep the ball in the zone.September 18, 2020 at 4:36 pm #140711
Carlos can’t hit the plate at all. Setting up to groove one and allow the tying run.September 18, 2020 at 4:37 pm #140712
Absolute garbage. Get that infielder out of the outfield.September 18, 2020 at 4:38 pm #140713
Whoa, two errors in the inning lead to 3 unearned runs. Bucs climb back in it, but we let them.
Carlos did not close the door, but could have been out of the inning scoreless with better defense.September 18, 2020 at 4:40 pm #140715gscottarParticipantPaid - Annual
The defense has been a mess today but CMart’s performance is also a reminder why he doesn’t need to be the closer. Every inning is a high wire act. Ulcer city.September 18, 2020 at 4:45 pm #140716
This is what teams running on fumes look like. Shildt needs to stop lying and pretending that it’s not the case. The Pirates and Cardinals are about equal teams in this state, which is saying something.September 18, 2020 at 4:45 pm #140717Cardinal in FranceParticipantFree
That was an ugly inning.September 18, 2020 at 4:46 pm #140718
Those errors may hurt us more than just allowing runs, as we would have been able to ride Martinez longer in this one. Now we go to the ‘pen in the fourth inning of game one.September 18, 2020 at 4:59 pm #140719gscottarParticipantPaid - Annual
With Carlson rejoining the team perhaps we have seen the last of the Edman in OF experiment. Tommy’s defense at 3B isn’t that great either but I would rather see him there instead of the OF, and for more than one reason. The more 3B he plays the fewer at bats Carp gets which makes it less likely his 2022 option will vest.September 18, 2020 at 5:01 pm #140720
O’Neill flashing the leather!September 18, 2020 at 5:04 pm #140721
Tough spot here. Need Cabrera to shut them down.September 18, 2020 at 5:08 pm #140722
Reyes in in what is referred to these days as a “high leverage” spot.September 18, 2020 at 5:19 pm #140724
I like the walks. Got some speed on the base paths now. Let’s use it.September 18, 2020 at 5:20 pm #140725
Would love to see Kolten get a base knock here.September 18, 2020 at 5:24 pm #140726
Wong has hit everything on the screws today, but has not had much to show for it other than the “gong” ball.September 18, 2020 at 5:25 pm #140727
Missed opportunity there … could use another run or three!September 18, 2020 at 5:26 pm #140728
The bullpen is gonna have to win this one. 6 outs to go.September 18, 2020 at 5:35 pm #140729
Reyes is struggling to put away the rookie Hayes. Foul ball after foul ball. Must be nice to have your celebrated rookie come up hot.September 18, 2020 at 5:40 pm #140730
Whew! Reyes strands the runner at second!September 18, 2020 at 5:41 pm #140731
Now Moran is battling. These guys are destroying our bullpen. Is anyone even going to be left for game 2?
Thankfully Reyes finally gets the K. But these last two guys chewed up 15 pitches.
