Waino gets a line drive out and a single, so he gets the hook and Gallegos is in. Good work by Waino today to give the bullpen some rest in the first game, at least.

Virtual living room standing O for Waino as he walks off with 1 on 1 out in the bottom of the 7th and Happ coming up. Nice decision by Skipper Shildt to pull him at the perfect moment. Come on Gallegos!

The Old War Horse just finds a way. Early adversity? No problem. Need innings? “I got you”

One out to go for Gallegos. Bryant is up.

Tommy Edman botches the easy grounder. Ugh.

Just had to make it a little scary at the end…

    It’s 2 a.m. I’m hitting the sack.

Had an 0-2 record when scoring 4 runs. Working on it… 1-2

Edman has struggled a bit at 3B this year. I hope that isn’t becoming a thing.

When the starter goes at least six innings, the Cards are 8-2 this season.

St. Louis wins Game 1, 4-2. Their record is 15-15.

P.S. It seems the concerns that Wainwright would not pitch well tonight after throwing 122 pitches last time out were unfounded.

My concern about Waino was not specific to tonight. Even if it was, the fact that he pitched well wouldn’t make it the right decision.
