@Pugs – Domino’s probably tasted like cardboard when you were in college, you just had too many beers to notice
August 22, 2020 at 9:00 pm #136467The more cheese the better Pugs.
Danny Mac and Ricky Horton were just talking about valuable Gant is to the team. I have to agree. He got worn down last year but this year we don’t have enough games for him to get worn down.
August 22, 2020 at 9:02 pm #136468Ha ha! I bet that definitely came into play, LACardFan. But Domino’s was sincerely magnifico back then….the empty box was just dripping with grease and any extra cheese fragments that stuck to the box was quickly gulped down. I tried it again for the last time about five years ago and I couldn’t even finish one slice. My dog shanked it right down, but I couldn’t.
August 22, 2020 at 9:05 pm #136470No no Mr. Gant! No walks allowed….and indeed that one free pass will send Gant to the pines. Anyone hear who was coming in?
August 22, 2020 at 9:08 pm #136471
stlcard25ParticipantAndrew Miller, one of Bob’s favorites, comes in for Gant and gets a double play ball. Then a single, and we have Joey Votto batting.
August 22, 2020 at 9:08 pm #136472Oh my a twin killing surely is man’s best friend and not necessarily your pooch….Miller induces it to quell Cindy’s 8th inning offensive aspirations.
August 22, 2020 at 9:09 pm #1364731982 willie
Participantwell miller got a double play but they better have someone ready to back him up. miller and webb. two guys we could do without.
August 22, 2020 at 9:10 pm #136474Oh oh, the Redlegs are not finished just yet here in the 8th. Runners occupying 1st & 2nd with two outs and it’ll be Gallegos vs Castellanos in a showdown fit for Dodge City.
August 22, 2020 at 9:14 pm #136475And Gallegos guns him down via the K route!
August 22, 2020 at 9:15 pm #136476
stlcard25ParticipantGallegos gets out of the jam that Miller got into with a nice K of Castellanos. Still 3-0, Cards.
August 22, 2020 at 9:16 pm #136477Does Gallegos get the 9th also? I would think so.
August 22, 2020 at 9:18 pm #136478Definitely Scotty.
August 22, 2020 at 9:19 pm #136479
jj-cf-stlParticipantHe better!
August 22, 2020 at 9:24 pm #136480My golly these guys throw hard. Back in the day I imagined myself strolling up to the plate and getting mighty comfy(unless R. Johnson was Manning the hill) awaiting my first offering and then actually putting some lumber on the ball. I look at the prospect now and you couldn’t pay me enough to stand in there vs these guys.
August 22, 2020 at 9:26 pm #1364811982 willie
Participantwell we have definitely left it open with only scoring 3 runs.
August 22, 2020 at 9:27 pm #136482Should be safe with Gallegos here, Willie.
August 22, 2020 at 9:29 pm #136483Gets Shogo to hit a lazy fly to O’Neill in left to start the Cincinnati 9th. Gallegos looking tough.
August 22, 2020 at 9:31 pm #136484
stlcard25ParticipantGallegos shuts em down in the 9th and the Redbirds win it, 3-0. Even nicer, this game was over in about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
August 22, 2020 at 9:31 pm #136485Game…Set….and hopefully we’ll put the finishing touch on the Match tomorrow. 3-0 Birds your merry final from St. Louis.
August 22, 2020 at 9:33 pm #136486Solid win tonight. Kudos to Kim, the bullpen, Edman, and Bader.
The Cubs are currently losing to the Sox again tonight. Those Cubbies aren’t looking quite as good as they were a couple of weeks ago. Something to keep an eye on.
August 22, 2020 at 9:34 pm #136487
jj-cf-stlParticipantKK gets his first MLB win, well deserved.
August 22, 2020 at 9:44 pm #136489That’s a winner!
August 22, 2020 at 9:49 pm #1364931982 willie
ParticipantIt was a solid win. We arent going to get shutout pitching every night so we need our middle guys to hit better. nice to see bader hit a little better. Sure the first one was a little pop up but sometimes thats what you need to get going.
August 22, 2020 at 10:43 pm #136499St. Louis wins 3-0 to move to 8-8 on the season.
