Gotta make them pay here … bases loaded and no out.
August 18, 2020 at 10:56 pm #135778Tying run at the plate.
August 18, 2020 at 11:07 pm #135779Lost opportunity … had a chance for a big inning … double play ball was a back breaker … offensive struggles continue
August 18, 2020 at 11:08 pm #135780Carlson cutting his teeth. I’d rather he be tested now, than wait.

Participantwith a couple of opportune hits, we could be winning this game. But such is baseball.
August 18, 2020 at 11:13 pm #135782Maybe they’ll bring in wingy, erKimbrel.
August 18, 2020 at 11:15 pm #135783I wish they had won game 2 yesterday.
August 18, 2020 at 11:18 pm #135784C’mon guys. at ;east make Wick throw bunch of pitches.
August 18, 2020 at 11:23 pm #135785Edman hasn’t looked good.
August 18, 2020 at 11:40 pm #135786No Edman hasn’t and the people who thought he hot start to his career was going carry over may have been dreaming. The broadcast team basically said and you can see he’s getting peppered with breaking pitches due to his semi long swing. Carlson I honestly think is a bit worn out and fatigue might be setting in a bit with not playing and having a lack of workouts.
Losing yesterday was a back breaker. Now we have to feel lucky just getting 1 win tomorrow and fly back and play the reds. Hopefully some reinforcements are coming because we could use them.
August 18, 2020 at 11:50 pm #135787The Cardinals lose 6-3 Tuesday night to fall to 4-5 on the season.
August 19, 2020 at 12:05 am #135794If there was ever a year for the Cardinals to tank, this is it…
No fans in the stands. All the double headers give them cover. Ability to draft Kumar Rocker.
August 19, 2020 at 6:42 am #135797Carlson doesn’t look anywhere near ready to be in the bigs, pitchers making him look silly

You may be forgetting that Carlson has been at Springfield and getting work every day. Rather than fatigue I think it is a matter of nerves after being told he is the second coming of Babe Ruth and now trying to show it. His defense has been good but his bat shows that his first feet ABs showed a good eye and steady swing but now he is searching and in need of some good batting coach advice. I still like what I see. Other than Goldy, not many others are tearing the hide off the ball.

ParticipantCarlson is just cutting his teeth. The following aren’t –
Carp – .593 OPS
Edman – .562 OPS
Wong – .554 OPS
Bader – .492 OPSAugust 19, 2020 at 7:39 am #135802Those OPS numbers serve to remind us that with a short season many will not be made up as they could be with a regular 162 game year. They are playing now in the ‘dog days of summer’ so it is time to make hay while the sun shines but it has been very hot this year.
As an aside, yesterday after my telling a friend of my fondness for MLB baseball his response was “Oh, so you are one of those guys.” I asked what he meant and he said “Just reverse the spelling of MLB.” Yikes.
August 19, 2020 at 8:24 am #135810Whoa, Darvish has really grown his hair out. But then haircuts were tough to get for a couple months there.
Yeah, Darvish and Ponce both look like they are straight out of 1976 hair wise.
Frustrating game last night. We need to win at least one of the two today.

ParticipantSome shaky pitching, 1 XBH and those 3 DPs hurt but chalk them up to good pitching. Our guys are still adjusting in start-up #3. The lineup sure could use some help from the C-19 list…. and they’ll need time to adjust too.
