Aggressive base running gets Bader thrown out at first and then Fowler doesn’t take second so… pretty poor base running there.

Yep, I remember us getting thrown out last year taking stupid leads. Lester is the one who has a major limitation, yet not only do we not take advantage of it, we seem to do something stupid and allow him to benefit from his limitation. Not sure what Bader was thinking, and hard to fault Fowler for not anticipating such a poor decision.
And now Gyorko ties it with a HR.
Hate walking Schwarber…..hate walking anyone except Joey Votto. Keep an eye on the big lug….he may try to steal.
Wacha motors down that line pretty darn well. Anytime your pitcher leads off the inning with a hit, you darn well better score.

Have a few questions about the groundscrew team:
1. Do they call in extra help on nights like this when rain is probable, or is the grounds team in full force for every game?
2. Where do they hang out at when the game is being played.
3. Do they have their own clubhouse area with munchies, games and what not?
4. What kind of coin do they make.
5. Any one know anything about the senior member of the grounds crew?
6. What is the male to female ratio for these workers?
7. Any former Cardinal grounds crew personnel who have gone on to fame or fortune?
Seems to me that there could be a nice article just waiting to be written about these fine people.

Balls hit to center sure do not appear to be carrying very well this evening. Even the Gyorko double to center initially looked like it was going to travel to the promised land. To the 8th we go in a tie ballgame. Wouldn’t that be sweet to clip these guys again late in the game.

If this game goes to extras I guess we could use CMart to pinch hit considering the short bench and Matheny burning 2 players for the pinch hit.
