If you look at the Doppler radar it shows nothing but green stuff heading directly to the Cincinnati area. I’d say its a safe bet this one is postponed. Surely the field at GABP must be soaked by now. Joe Maddon was bemoaning the fact yesterday after the game that both the Braves and Cubs had to play in terrible conditions.

Maddon whining about the poor conditions yesterday makes no sense. The home team (in this case, the Cubs) makes the call on whether or not the game is going to be played. The umps don’t take over until lineup cards are exchanged. So why did they play, then, Joe?
I am not there today, but with modern fields, they can be playable even after a lot of rain. Between the infield being covered and good drainage systems in the outfield, they can have a good head start on decent conditions.
In Cincy, the gates are open, but the game start has been delayed. No new time for first pitch yet.

He made it through 5 with 83 pitches. That’s not too bad. He should get to 7 and still be below 120.
10 Ks for Martinez through six scoreless innings. I wondered with the weather and opponent if he would be at his best today. I shouldn’t have wondered.
