I think our chances in this game might be better if Weaver and Greg Garcia switched positions….if they have to play.
If you walk Hamiliton in this situation, and they just did, Carpenter should just cut to the chase and motion for Billy to just keep on a going on over to 2nd base. Weaver’s thrown enough already as it is to have him worry about Hamilton over at 1st.
Wisdom with a good AB to draw the walk to lead off the 2nd. He didn’t bite on three pitches that were not that far off the plate. But then he is caught stealing as Bader hung him out to dry it appeared by pulling off the bunt. Or maybe Wisdom missed a sign. Kind of odd looking.
Wisdom patiently works himself a lead off walk and then in a blink of an eye is erased trying to swipe 2nd.
Greg Garcia now 6-13 lifetime vs this Reds starter, as he dumps a soft single into short center. I bet Descalfini won’t be telling the grandchildren about that stat.
If Weaver started worrying more about pitch efficiency than not stepping on that darn baseline as he’s trotting on out to the mound, he just might start progressing as a hurler vs regressing.
Brewers and cubs both having their way so far today against their quality opponents…on the road! We better at least hold serve at home today vs these guys.

Crew and Blue(cubs) both holding comfortable 5 run advantages over the Nats and Phils respectively, as we head to the 7th in our game. Carlos center stage for The Good Guys. Billy Hamilton promptly greets the embattled Redbird righty with a double to right, just barely beating the Jose throw. A bunt and sac fly to right has the Reds sitting 1 run atop the home team….3-2.
5’s running wild as both teams have 5 hits apiece and a combined 5 runs between the two. As just mentioned, Brewers and cubs both leading by 5….anc I’ve had 5 brewskis since the 5th. How about we high-5 them with 5 runs this inning!
