Nice play by Bader to score on the ball that got away from the catcher. Hellickson tripped over Bader as he slid and seemed to tweak his hand or wrist. 2-0 Cards with Marp on 3rd.
August 15, 2018 at 8:56 pm #65608I still cringe when Bader slides headfirst.
August 15, 2018 at 8:58 pm #65609Yadi pokes one to right and Carpenter scores. 3-0 Cards.
August 15, 2018 at 9:15 pm #65611After struggling, Gomber came back with a really strong sixth, ending it with a swinging strikeout.
August 15, 2018 at 9:26 pm #65612The wine is bottled and the Cards are winning again tonight. Good night so far.
August 15, 2018 at 9:44 pm #65613Oh man, that looks like a broken hand with Carpenter coming out right away like that.
August 15, 2018 at 9:45 pm #65615Carpenter out after a hbp on the hand. Let’s hope for the best.
August 15, 2018 at 9:47 pm #65616It’s like a curse for this team the last few years with the HBP on the hand. Hopefully that was just precaution and he’s back at it soon.
August 15, 2018 at 9:47 pm #65617We can use Cecil to be the designated pitcher to plunk people on other teams, since he is taking over for Webb and all…
August 15, 2018 at 9:50 pm #65619Heck of a play by DeJong to answer the one by Turner last half inning.
August 15, 2018 at 9:59 pm #65620CArp x-rays negative.
August 15, 2018 at 10:00 pm #65621Nat broadcast just reported Carp’s xray was negative. Dodged one.
And . . . .
Update on Matt Carpenter: X-rays were negative #stlcards

August 15, 2018 at 10:08 pm #65623Lets hope the hand does not bother Carp. Even with the negative xray results, it still could be painful to geip the bat for a few days. But obviously that is better than a break.
Man, Gyorko and Wong take first pitch 83 mph meatballs. Those had “hit me” all over them.
August 15, 2018 at 10:20 pm #65624Getting a little uncomfortable late again. Norris looks a tad lost.
August 15, 2018 at 10:23 pm #65625We win 4-2
August 15, 2018 at 10:24 pm #65626And that’s another series win. Norris gets the save, Cards win 4-2.
August 15, 2018 at 10:26 pm #65627Well-played 4-2 win for the Cards. Eight in a row, 11 games over .500 at 66-55. Six series in a row won ties most recent occurrence in August 2015.
August 16, 2018 at 4:49 am #65634I sure hope the folks coming off the DL don’t change the Cards mojo. They need to keep the players’ roles the same,
August 16, 2018 at 6:02 am #65635Excellent win last night. Good pitching, timely hitting and some good defense. Hopefully Carpenter has no ill effects from the HBP and is back in the lineup ASAP.
This team is getting exciting…they’re having fun and playing well. The kids are propping up both the rotation and the bullpen, and acting like they’ve been here for years. I hope they continue winning right on into October.
August 16, 2018 at 9:10 am #65644I sure hope the folks coming off the DL don’t change the Cards mojo. They need to keep the players’ roles the same,
Great post. I’ve been thinking the same thing.
August 16, 2018 at 10:13 am #65656Looks like I picked a bad time to doze off during a game.
Team seems to have found a mojo.
