We know he can pitch, but let’s see how Hudson hits as he leads off the Redbird 7th. Taps a little squibber back to the pitcher McRae who lobs it on over to Cervelli at 1st for the out. Carpenter fouls one off the upper theigh…dangerously close to you know what….boy would that hurt….with some of us lucky ones, that’s a foot worth of agony!

We came into tonights game w/4 relievers on two days rest. Gomber would have made 5.

Hudson was one of them, with norris, ponce and mayers throwing last weds.

Hudson absolutely perfect for 3 frames and he deserves the “W” in this one.

There you go. On e a guy is warmed up, and if he is mowing them down, no reason to pull him after only one inning.

Shildt is using Hudson the way he should right now. I like it.

There are so many “Mike Myers” in the world of sports and entertainment, I would think our guy would want to change it a little and pronounce his name “MAY-ers”.

Our kids have been looking great. Mayers looking good this inning….Hudson….Ponce….if Flaherty and Weaver can minimize their pitch counts better…..Gumby…Reyes hopefully coming back…Fagalde and others on the horizon….what do you do with them all!

Goodness, Matt Carpenter is locked in. I wish we had one other consistently good hitter in this lineup to go with him.

Who’s the last Cardinal to lead the league in dongaroo? Albert or Big Mac…geesh I can’t recall if Albert ever won the HR title.

Man, we need Carp in the middle of the order. Here is how we should go: Wong,Bader,Carp,Ozuna,Molina,ONeill,DeJong. Speed at the top, run production in the middle, and still some pop at the end.

Thanks, Pugs. Was at a family party tonight and with the blackout here in Western PA for Pirates games, I was only able to listen to the game on FM radio driving home. Looks like a great game for our Cards tonight.

Looks good Mike….except Wong….just not ready to give him the leadoff reigns after just one nice game. Let’s hope tonight is the start of big things for him.

You missed a Jim-dandy! One quick question….is your wife younger or older, stlcard25.

…oh, and put Gyorko in there in the six slot, ahead of Yadi.

Yeah, did not think you would want Wong there Pugs. You would have Schrock in St. Louis, and Wong would be in LA (before they got Dozier).

I think Albert did win a “jack” title. My favorite Cardinal home run season though was Richie Allen, with 34 in 3/4 of a season in the old park where it was 386 in the power alleys.

Nope. We’ve tried that four years running. It doesn’t work. Let him hit leadoff, and get 30+ extra bats per year. Plus, it gives the team energy to start with a lead on the first batter of the game…

I am unmarried, so that is an incomplete question for me. Thus, the trend I noticed in this thread will continue on past me, haha.
