Memphis – canceled
The Memphis Redbirds’ (32-34) doubleheader against the Nashville Sounds (36-28, MIL) was canceled due to rain and will not be made up. The series will continue on Sunday.

Springfield 3 at San Antonio 2
The Springfield Cardinals (42-26) defeated the San Antonio Missions (30-37, SD) 3-2 on Saturday at Nelson Wolff Stadium. Starter Trent Baker earned his fourth win this season, throwing five scoreless innings, and allowing a hit while striking out nine.

The Cardinals struck first in the fifth with Nathan Church’s RBI sacrifice bunt, Jimmy Crooks’ sacrifice fly, and R.J. Yeager’s RBI single.

The Missions responded in the seventh with a two-run shot to bring the game to within one.
Nathanael Heredia pitched a scoreless inning, yielding a hit while striking out two. Jack Ralston threw 1 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on two hits while walking two and striking out three. Matt Svanson earned his 27th save this season, pitching 1 1/3 innings, and surrendering two hits while striking out one. Springfield allowed two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out 15.

R.J. Yeager went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Church was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Dakota Harris hit 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored. The Cardinals totaled three runs on seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
Chris Rotondo swiped his seventh bag this season.

Palm Beach – Off Saturday
The Palm Beach Cardinals were off on Saturday. The Cardinals will begin the Championship Series on Sunday against the Lakeland Flying Tigers (DET) in a best-of-three series.
