Glendale Desert Dogs 9 at Salt River Rafters 6
The Glendale Desert Dogs defeated the Salt River Rafters 9-6 on Thursday at Salt River Field at Talking Stick.
Brycen Mautz was the only St. Louis Cardinals prospect to participate. The lefty pitched 1/3 of an inning, allowing five runs on two hits while walking three and striking out one.
Mautz was brought in to pitch the eighth inning with an 9-0 lead but had a rocky performance. He walked the first three batters before striking out the fourth, then gave up an RBI single, threw a wild pitch that let a run score, and yielded an RBI single that made the score 9-3. He was relieved after the single, and the two runners he left on base later came around to score in the inning.
Glendale is 9-5 and tied with Surprise for first place in the Arizona Fall League.
Friday’s game: vs. Salt River Rafters, RHP Jerming Rosario (1-1, 12.46) vs. Gabriel Hughes RHP (1-0, 10.80) 2:30 CT.
