Anybody got an update on Hicks and why he had to leave the game in the 9th inning on Saturday?

Hicks has triceps tendinitis. Couple of days to a week says Schildt.

Judging from the amount of rain in Mo today, tonights game may be a late starter – very late but the Cards have Monday off. However, maybe God on the Angels team can clear the way for play.

I see what you are talking about MM3. Looks like another TON of rain in the St. Louis area. As I type this, that is. Fortunately the game is several hours away and maybe the rain will be gone by then. I just don’t want anymore wet stuff here in SW Indiana. Not for about a month. Poor farmers.

It has been a crazy Spring. Here in the Rocky Mountain region, we have had all these winters of late where we will here the “snowpack in the mountains is only at 31% of normal”, or something like that. They just got another round of snow the last couple of days, and the snowpack is something like 700% of normal!

I dislike these Sunday night games. Seems like the Cardinals are the featured team more than any other club.

Couple of nice games so far in this series. Good too see Albert get such a resounding ovation. Time has healed most of the hurt feelings on both sides.

Anybody have any clue as to what we are going to do about Matt Carpenter? He cant hit, he cant field, he cant throw. He’s just about useless anymore. Surely there is a better option out there somewhere.

    Isnt there???

Send him to the GSL, Esteemed Rat.

They are thru 2 complete in America’s Dairyland, where Descla F. is has been absolutely perfect…..6 Brewers up and 6 Brewers down…all via the K route. No score.

Well, Descla F. does it again! Whiffs 3 more Brewers in the 3rd, giving him 9 K’s thru 3 frames. However, the Crew also bat around and knock the Reds hurler around to boot, scoring 5 runs on 6 hits. 5-0 Milwaukee heading to the 4th.

well, rounding out the weather reports, it’s high 90s here in the southwest of France. Expected to hit 100 (38C) by midweek.

Hope St. Louis weather allows us to finish off the Angels in style before heading off for a day of rest.

On Carpenter, I’ve always liked him and am distressed to watch him fail so miserably this year. I also like Gyorko, but I don’t think he’s the answer either. Don’t think anybody else would take either, so trade seems out. It shouldn’t be hard to find somebody who can play a notch or two over mediocre at third and hit a few dozen points over 220.

Wow! I didn’t think it got that hot in France. Maybe this global warming that we always hear about is starting over there in France and Germany and then eventually working its way around the globe. It sure hasn’t hit here in Miller Park or anywhere in Wisconsin for that matter yet. This is probably out coldest March-June in about a century. Maybe I should just ask our resident weatherman, RatsBuddy, about global warming as he’d know the particulars. Anyway I may cut out of this game early so I can game thread it with all of you guys for tonight’s swerparoo.

Cubs get three in the last of the 8th on a Baez homerun and down the Mets 5-3.

Rosenthal was released by the Nats today. I hope and pray that the Cardinals absolutely do NOT want anything to do with him.

And according to the Doppler Radar the green stuff has moved out of St. Louis. Unless more is on the way I assume the game will be played. I have got my cigar moistened for it.

Skaggs dealing for the Halos. Too bad Xavier Scruggs didn’t make it long term for the Birds as we could be looking at a Skaggs vs Scruggs matchup tonight. And Mikolas walks the opposing AL pitcher, Skaggs…..and it goes on to cost Miko and the Cards a run. 1-0 Angels going to the bottom of the 2nd.

5 Birds up and 5 Birds down for Cy Skaggs, until Yadi smokes a liner to left for the first Cardinal base runner here this evening. Bader grounds out to end the Redbird 2nd.

Quick trivia ?……..what ML city has had the most rain delays 4 out of the last 5 years?

Wong with a web gem that you just HAVE to see, resulting in a DP! Now Albert comes up making it impossible to decipher how much of the applause is for Wong’s dandy and how much for Albert?

And Albert drills a shot that caroms off the left field wall, but it was stroked too hard for Albert’s liking as he cannot advance past 1st for his deed.

This place is dead tonight. So maybe I’ll quickly check how that brother-sister combo is doing traversing 25 stories over Times Square on that little wire. I feel about 10 stories up myself right now with the Halos leading us 1-0 and looking for more here in their half of the 3rd.

The Albertpolooza is killing me. Holding replay on Wongs play so they could get the crowd clapping for Alberts at bat. Playing the soft and fuzzy thread already. Personaly didn’t like Albert leaving for a wheel barrow full of money- a new record at the time-how soon we forget. This ESPN crew haven’t yet heard anything about the current team being so near to first in the division. Please don’t mess with Rosenthal till next year maybe. Go Cardinals!

Never know, he might be a reverse Greg Holland, coming in to pitch like an All Star after stinking up his original team.

This Edman kid can really fly. He almost out one out, but ends up with an easy triple. Now let’s get a rally going.

Cards can still take this one since Skaggs had to leave. Fortunate to give up only a run when they put Ohtani out their to PH for Skaggs. Good all around for our guys.

Edmon now triple bags off the wall in right. That guy’s got some spark. Gotta score two this inning.

Carpenter is killing this team. His best hope is to foul pitches off anymore. I love Marp but he needs to sit as soon as there is a viable replacement at third. Maybe even Edman should get some starts.

Carpenter fans with a runner on third and one out and DeJong flies out. Ugh.

Carpenter whiffs on a REQUIRED contact at bat. A professional hitter needs to put that in play. Failed at bat.

Schildt can’t send Carpenter to AAA, but he can sit him down. Time to send a message. Put Munoz at third for a couple of weeks.
