I kind of excluded 1st year players because we have no expectations for them really. Let’s call this one the “Pads Award”.

5. Evan MendozaGentlemen. To leave Alexander “The Great” Fagalde out of this conversation would be akin to speaking of great Cardinal short stops of all time…..and not mentioning Ozzie Smith. Ok, not quite to that degree, but Alexander sure sailed right into Cardinal Nation radar with a stellar 2018 campaign. I really could not place him into the “surprise” category as some of us (cough cough) knew he was a sleeping tiger on the precipice of pouncing. I put Alexander “The Great” in the “Largest Development” grouping with the likes of some pretty fanciable company in the person of “Elvis” Montero and Malcom Nunez.
And the winner of the Player deemed to have developed his skills the most in 2018 is…………………..……….Elehuris Montero!
