2:10 p.m. RHP Austin Gomber (3-0, 2.98) vs. LHP Tyler Anderson (6-5, 4.39) FOX Sports Midwest/KMOX
August 25, 2018 at 10:18 pm #66852Cardinals need a win to keep their series-winning streak alive.
August 26, 2018 at 10:28 am #66889Being in Colorado what are the chances Gomber has issues with his curve today? With tomorrow being an off day I assume his leash will be pretty short in this one.

August 26, 2018 at 12:00 pm #66891One would assume Ponce will be recalled due to the Mayers DL stint?
Also if Wong hit’s the DL (again) who takes his place? Wisdom??
August 26, 2018 at 12:19 pm #66896Mayers to DL, Leone active, 40 man spot by releasing Sherriff. Didn’t see a word on Wong.
August 26, 2018 at 1:06 pm #66900I hope their bats come alive again.

ParticipantSecond double of the inning for Carp. 6-0!
August 26, 2018 at 2:49 pm #66906Good start, but as we saw Friday night, there are no safe leads in Denver.
August 26, 2018 at 2:55 pm #66908Heading to the bottom of the 2nd with your St. Louis Cardinals on the positive end of a 6-0 ballgame. I would like to take this moment to remind us all of where we are playing this game…………………6-0 in the 2nd inning is by no means a safe lead….let us not rest until we have a 12 run advantage…..and it’s at least the 8th inning.
Hey CardsRedSox4Ever…..lets check out the Blackmon eye black usage today….missed last night’s game.
August 26, 2018 at 3:08 pm #66909Speed wins ballgames…..and we are finally starting to get a lot of it. 7-1 now and looking for more.
August 26, 2018 at 3:22 pm #66910NJ315
ParticipantMatt Holliday was nice enough to give us a run. Carp has 3 doubles. 10-1
August 26, 2018 at 3:22 pm #66911Looks like Cincinnati is reverting to their pre-all-star game miserable form as they’re getting pelted once again by the cubbies in The Windy City….6-0. And now Carpenter slashes his 3rd double of this game that will plate Munoz…and we are inly in the 3rd inning. I wonder if 9 doubles sets the MLB record for z single performance…..and now Yadi joins the hit parade with a line shot that hits the 2nd base bag on a fly and caroms out into center….Carpenter will tickle home plate and the Birds have been playing footsie all day long with that home plate……9-1 Good Guys! Jose blisters a shot….fair down the left field line!!….Yadi is rounding 2nd and chugging towards 3rd….and here comes Yadi heading towards paydirt at the speed of lard….Holliday cannot retrieve it fast enough and Yadi will indeed score….10-1!
August 26, 2018 at 3:25 pm #66912What’s a safe lead at Coors? After we’ve seen the kinds of innings that can happen last night and today, I’ll go with 18 runs. We’re half way there with a 10-1 lead in the top of the 3rd. Too bad O’Neill just stranded a runner at second, hope that doesn’t come back to haunt us.
August 26, 2018 at 3:30 pm #66914I know we are playing in The Mile High City, but if I’m Shildt I may be thinking of calling off the dogs pretty soon here, as we may play these guys in post season play…..24-4 in their own yard and they will be frothing at the mouth in revenge. Let’s just keep this baby around 13-6 and all is good.
August 26, 2018 at 3:33 pm #66915They scored 8 runs in one inning last night. I don’t think the dogs will be called off.
August 26, 2018 at 3:40 pm #66916Yep….a titch too soon yet to reel the dogs back in, GScott….but I sure as heck don’t want to see a 24-4 shellacking, for obvious reasons, as much as I would like to.
Thru 3 complete this game has seen 12 runs on 15 hits and a team combined 3 errors…..I think BicycleMike, who is attendance today, is getting his monies worth of action.
August 26, 2018 at 3:44 pm #66917Leone is coming back? I don’t know if I want a seasoned veteran reliever messing with the great chemistry of this revamped bullpen.
August 26, 2018 at 3:47 pm #66918Gomber sets them down in a neat little chorus line 1-2-3 here in the 4th….6 K’s on the day to boot.
August 26, 2018 at 3:48 pm #66919Pugs, I’m disappointed Blackmon is on the bench today. Was hoping to catch his smokey eye one more time. Ha!
August 26, 2018 at 3:52 pm #66920Don’t tell the Dems, but I think there’s a Russian in this game!….nope check that, it’s only the southpaw Chris Rusin dealing for Colorado.
August 26, 2018 at 3:56 pm #66921I’m bummed at his absence too, CardsRedSox4Ever! It was so caked on that I actually thought I saw a fly stuck in his eye black under his left eye….and Blackmon didn’t even know it was there.
