RHP Brandon Woodruff (0-0, 5.14) had been Milwaukee’s scheduled starter, but was sent down to Triple-A on Saturday.

A problem develops in that the Cards will need a back-up catcher for one game. That C may or may not even play but that need remains. Somebody will be traveling today if Molina agrees to suspension.
It will have to be Kelly (40-man). So Knizner might get a game start in Memphis since Springfield is off today. Or JMartinez or Baron.
Teams are not allowed to add an extra player to cover for a suspended one.
So any player sent down to make room due to Molina’s one-game suspension would have to remain in the minors for at least 10 days – unless there is a later injury.
The cost-benefit equation to add another backup catcher for one game leads me to guess they will instead risk it rather than make a roster move.
They could send Brebbia to AAA and recall Kelly. Then send Kelly back out and recall another pitcher or activate Gregerson of hes ready.
Hopefully they take their time in activating Gregerson, learning a lesson from the Holland situation.
I would assume Norris (2-in-a-row) and Hicks (2 innings) are unavailable today. Bowman and Leone could be off-limits, but really have only pitched 4 games in 7 days, neither having pitched 4/9 though.

Brewers putting on an extreme shift with Carp. Carp tries to bunt a 3-1 pitch but it goes foul. And then they catch Carp looking for the K and get Pham trying to steal. Strike’em out, throw’em out double play!
