6:45 p.m.
RHP Andre Pallante (4-3, 4.91) vs. RHP José Berríos (2-2, 3.67)
FanDuel // KMOX // WIJRJune 8, 2025 at 8:03 pm #284439Now we get 3 at home vs. TOR. It won’t be too much longer before the Cardinals will have played 33 games against AL teams before they get their first glimpse of the Chicago, Cubs on the 23rd of this month. That fact can’t hardly help but to erode the overall credibility of the league and the people that are entrusted to oversee it’s affairs and best interests.
June 9, 2025 at 10:06 am #284449From The Athletic:
Trending up: the Blue Jays (8-2 in their last 10 games). Mitch Bannon explains what is going so right lately.
June 9, 2025 at 12:41 pm #284458On a good note…..The meteorological conditions look good for this one tonight. And the entire series. No green stuff in the area according to the Doppler Radar.
June 9, 2025 at 3:02 pm #2844641. Nootbaar LF
2. Winn SS
3. Donovan 2B
4. Contreras 1B
5. Herrera C
6. Arenado 3B
7. Burleson RF
8. Gorman DH
9. Scott CFPallante P
June 9, 2025 at 3:48 pm #284465Thanks for the lineup, Scotty! My eyes will be on the bottom 3. Can Burly keep hitting? Is Gorman on the verge of getting it together? Victor has shown flashes and has played decently……but he can and will do better. Sounds crazy now, but this bottom 3 could potentially be our top 3 one day…….Scott-Burly-Gorman.
Rat’s weather reports have been invaluable to this site. Keep em coming, Rat. Brian can thank his lucky stars that Rat isn’t charging him for his sterling meteorological reports.
What’s for din-din tonight one may ask? I’m doing Popeye’s here in about an hour. Two pieces of chicken(both breast) dipped in melted butter, red beans and rice, whole jalapeño, mashed potatoes with gravy and of course what Popeye’s din-din would be complete without 3 of their scrumptdillyitious apple cinnamon pies.

jj-cf-stlParticipantThanks for asking. Tonight is chicken and dumplings cooked yesterday and rested in the frig today. A dbl box of cornbread in the cast iron fry pan. An inner red onion wedge w/breaded fried okra. A tall cold milk.

jj-cf-stlParticipantOli has 4 lefties, and 3 righties, in a row. “Veddy intaresteen!” – Sgt Schulz
June 9, 2025 at 6:47 pm #284474“I know nutting…NUTTING!”…
June 9, 2025 at 6:52 pm #284475The other day I mentioned that the Blue Jays managed to create over 4M ticket stubs for three consecutive seasons from ’91 to ’93. Not even the BFIB can come close to making that claim. I’m not even entirely sure it’s been done by Yankee or Dodger fans. In any case, that’s a lot of tickets for a Canadien baseball team.
June 9, 2025 at 7:08 pm #284476Since the Cardinals had that surprising real nice 9 game W streak it almost seems like they’ve regressed a little bit, but that’s not at all the case. Since the day that streak came to an end they’ve gone 13-10, which is not at all bad. At any rate, just win tonight’s game and everything’s good and well…
June 9, 2025 at 7:29 pm #284477I don’t know what the ump was seeing when the bat “hit” Herrera’s glove
June 9, 2025 at 7:37 pm #284479
jj-cf-stlParticipantThere goes the no-hitter
June 9, 2025 at 7:44 pm #284480
jj-cf-stlParticipantFirst a relative needs to know about a coin he found, then the cornbread was ready… Lets do this.
June 9, 2025 at 7:46 pm #284482I’m taking on the mindset of Rat…This team can’t hit! But what’s worse is that they can’t score…
June 9, 2025 at 7:48 pm #284483
jj-cf-stlParticipantWait….what…??? Lol
June 9, 2025 at 7:54 pm #284485Berrios was struggling with command that inning but the Cards still couldn’t push one across
June 9, 2025 at 7:57 pm #2844864 innings.
2 little weak hits.
0 runs.
I keep telling everybody this team has nobody that can hit.
June 9, 2025 at 8:01 pm #284488
jj-cf-stlParticipantIve seen maybe 2 innings but Andre is at 78 (edit) pitches over 5 IP retiring 8 in a row. Bring him back out right?
June 9, 2025 at 8:09 pm #284489The fact that this team can’t score is even more frustrating than the fact that it can’t hit…It’s a perfect illustration of why a shutout has always been, by it’s very nature, inherently more effective at producing a W than is a no hitter.
June 9, 2025 at 8:13 pm #284490Pallante looked like he was going to get lit up. Real nice job of adjusting and pitching a solid game. Now get some runs.
June 9, 2025 at 8:17 pm #284491
jj-cf-stlParticipant6 IP, 2 ER on 91 pitches. By my count Andre only bounced 3 of 12 knuckle curves. The have had to account for it.
June 9, 2025 at 8:28 pm #284492That one would have hit Jimmy Durante…
June 9, 2025 at 8:34 pm #284493
jj-cf-stlParticipantLets go lefty bats, prove Pugs to be right.
June 9, 2025 at 8:37 pm #284494Glad to see him leave.
