And on a good note……..the Brewers open their home schedule today. I am going to assume that means that Front Row Amy will be in attendance!

Again, I like this lineup. Maybe swap Baker and Herrera, but I don’t feel strongly that needs to be the case. The most important thing is no Burleson and to a lesser degree no Gorman vs the lefty starter.
With Mikolas on the mound, let’s hope the good D continues to show up.
Going to be quite cool in St. Louis tonight. And Cincinnati for that matter.
But not out at Dodger Stadium.
I wouldn’t be adverse to Scotty moving on up to leadoff, followed by Donovan, Nooty, Arenado, then Contreras. Boy Winn needs to get off the proverbial schneid. How many hits has he accrued in 2025(including spring training)? I’m thinking maybe 2. Anyway, if memory serves me correct, I believe the Angels visited us last year and royally spanked us. We cannot have a repeat of that thrashing. Not to rain on our sunny parade, but glancing at the out-of-town scoreboard, I see the Twins getting it handed to them again, this time by the lowly ChiSox 9-0……which to me takes a smidgen of sweetness out of our sweep against them. What’s for din-din one may ask? At around 4:30pm(cst), I’ll be cruising on over to Johnny’s Steakhouse for a medium rare ribeye, mushrooms, baked potato loaded to the gills with butter and sour cream and asparagus spears. Then for dessert I’ll drift on over to the drive-thru lane at Popeye’s to snag 3 of their scrumptious apple cinnamon pies.
I have been watching Luken Baker for what seems like forever now including multiple times in person. I’m so excited he’s getting an opportunity this season. He takes good at bats, walks a lot, hits the ball in the air often, and hits it extremely hard. He’s fun to watch. This is going to sound ridiculous and maybe it is, but every time Baker comes to the plate he gives me McGwire vibes like there’s a good chance the baseball is heading over the outfield wall. DH vs left handed pitching is the perfect role for him, especially given all this team’s struggles last year vs lefties. Let the Big Dog eat tonight.
Winn is spitting on outside pitches he used to slap to RF with regularity. There’s a cost for focusing on SLG.
Well it’s that stupid L/R/L/R lineup again tonight, with Baker bumping Donny down to Burly’s spot. Oli keeps penciling in that staggered lineup that has only produced 30 hits and 19 runs in 3 games.
So far my employer has given away the company tickets to the rank and file for all games after opening day. All the Angels games are up for grabs.

Not only are the Twins down 9-0 today the Brewers trailing KC by the score of 10-0 in the 7th at County Stadium.
And nope, I didn’t see Front Row Amy anywhere today. Brewers season off to a bad start.

In my heart of hearts I expected the Brewers to be bad this season. However, this is absurd so far.
JJ – we do get 4 righties in a row tonight stacked behind the Nootster. Maybe Ollie is learning to be better because 19 runs in 3 games doesn’t even come close to matching the Yankees.
I believe both Pujols & Hornsby won a decade’s Triple Crown (2000’s & 1920’s), therefore it’s not a stretch to think the list could include Williams & Wagner?
Man, good question 1TD. I will say the answer has something to do with WAR – maybe the only guys to lead their league in WAR 10 times? Something like that.
That’s right, Albert…Nice going! Those four iconic baseball names are the only players in baseball history to have ever led Big League baseball in all 3 Triple Crown categories for an entire decade. Williams and Hornsby also each won a conventional Triple Crown and are the only two players in history to have won multiple Triple Crowns. Hornsby in ’22 and ’25, and Williams in ’42 and ’47. I had always thought Pujols had a really good chance at achieving the conventional Triple Crown and he came close a few times but could never quite ace all 3 categories. But man, for those 10 years from 2000 to 2010 he was a weapon of mass destruction in the batter’s box. All three of those other guys were before my time, but I got to see the great Albert Pujols rip the baseball on a daily basis and he was without a doubt a baseball legend. We were all lucky to have seen him play for our favorite team for all those incredibly amazing seasons. Albert Pujols, Rogers Hornsby, Ted Williams and Honus Wagner in the same breath would make even Cy Young shake in his cleats…Haha!
Front Row Amy has been dealing with a nasty virus this past week. She’ll be riding high in the saddle at beautiful Milwaukee County Stadium soon.
Yeah, the age old question: are we that good, or is the team we swept that bad? Either way, we’re off to a good start.
With everyone in the lineup swinging for the fences, it doesn’t make much difference where you place them in the order. Once things settle down, I think you have to give Scott-2 a few turns at leadoff…..I wouldn’t be adverse to Scotty moving on up to leadoff
I don’t think Scott has either yet earned the lead off spot or even is an ideal leadoff hitter. One thing I think that is really improved in the modern game regarding lineup construction is not just putting the fast guy in the leadoff spot. It doesn’t matter how fast you and your base stealing ability. The most important thing is getting on base and avoiding outs. You want one of your best players in the leadoff spot so they also get the most PAs as well.
