Nice to get a win at Miller Park last night. Seems funny that we don’t go back there until late September with the new scheduling.

And, unfortunately, Front Row Amy was not in attendance last night. But it was indeed nice to see Arenado get off the schneid with a ringing dong to left for his 1st of the year. Hopefully many more will follow.

I a going to assume Contreras get’s this game off and we see Knizner in the #9 slot. Hopefully we will see Front Row Amy in her normal slot as well..:)

Yeah, the rise to sea level is no sweat on April 9th, whereas if it was Labor Day we’d probably be talking about next year. In any event, Happy Easter, Redbird fans!

I’m not sure Burleson is at all suited for that 2 slot in the line-up. Has he hit in any other area of the order this season?

I sure do hope Knizner can at least show a little sign of life today. He’s getting to be more than a bit wearisome with a bat that could be termed nonexistant. I want to see him do good, but the way he’s been going’s been no better than having a guy like Austin Romine to give Contreras a breather.

I doubt we see Burly as a top of the order guy too much once Noot returns. He’s been hitting well enough to be there, but yeah, he profiles better somewhere else. I like the look of him at the plate. He and Walker from either side could be formidable in the middle of the lineup some day. They are not too dissimilar defensively either, at least for now. Bookends.

The primary reason I mentioned it, Bling, is because I’m pretty sure he’s been exclusively placed at #2 in the order this season.

Hmmm. Maybe they are seeing what he can do while they have the chance. Find out what the possibilities are. You never know.

Can robo umps get here sooner rather than later, please? Every game now you see them miss multiple pitches many inches off the plate. Walker just got victimized. Woodford got the benefit of one earlier, so I’m not saying it’s a StL problem. It’s a baseball problem. Umps just aren’t good at it.

Woodford looked like he might get roughed up today after the first couple batters, but now he extends his scoreless innings to 4 and 2/3. Nolan has handled his couple plays at 3B — Gorman that is.

Rule #1 of hitting. Recognize hittable pitches.

Those robo umps might not only eliminate all those 3-0 called strikes that are a foot off of HP, but would also eliminate the need to make a questionable call to make up for a prior questionable call so as to even up all of the questionable calls…Now, I’m getting confused. Also, does a robo ump have the ability to give a player the old heave-ho if he curses the robo ump’s balls and strike calls? It’s too complicated.

And where would Earl Weaver kick the dirt?

I wonder if the robo ump is programmed with the ability to tell if a pitcher is talking to his glove or the robo ump? If not, Clemens may not have been ran in the 2nd inning in game 4 of the 1990 BOS/OAK ALCS…

Haha! What happens if you make physical contact with a robo ump? Is a robo ump constructed and manufactured with the ability to defend itself?

Hope Woodford’s request for trouble by walking the #9 hitter is not answered

Burly just cost ’em a couple runs in LF. Played that one like a little leaguer focused on the snow cone stand. That was bad.

Haha! Now that’s a $64,000 question plus a dollar or two!

I wonder if that RBI double that bounced on the track behind Burleson would have just been a loud out if O’Neill had been in LF like last year. My thinking is yes and it would sill be a scoreless game.

I was thinking the same, Bling, but it looked like Burleson was playing a bit shallow and that hit was ripped pretty good.

I’ll say it once more…Walker’s got a real nice fluid and controlled rip. That was a sweet looking RBI base hit.
