We lose this one and that’s all she wrote. I wonder if Pujols will be back in the lineup for this one? And Goldschmidt better get his act together in a hurry. He is fading rapidly. At this point he won’t even hit .300 on the year. Arenado can just about kiss .300 goodbye as well.

The Colts play at 1:05 and the Redbirds play at 1:35. Going to be a tough call for me and Whitey Herdog. Alot of switching back and forth. Sure wish I had a split screen.

Hard to say about din-din tomorrow. Probably a center cut rib chop in the air fryer. Not sure what else I might have. I bought a can of Yams at the store on Friday so I might have some of them as well. Along with a Pepsi and a piece of Angel Food cake with chocolate icing.

Nice to see the Great Pujols catch Rodriguez with HR# 696, but you have to keep in context that Albert may still be chasing him if Rodriguez hadn’t been suspended for the entire 2014 season for a simple case of being a jerk, and well…other stuff. And if anyone thinks I feel that way simply because Rodriguez was never a Redbird, my sentiments regarding Mark McGwire are similar.

Rats, Goldy would have to hit about .140 for the rest of the year (22 games) for him to drop below .300. Ain’t going to happen.

I hates losing. Especially to marginal teams. But in the last 31 days, since August 10th, our magic number has dropped from 52 games to 15 games. That’s not bad after playing 30 games in 31 days.

    Magic number is 15?

    15 men on a dead man’s chest. Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum….

It needs to be kept in context that A-Rod would have never been on the list of top HR hitters(neither would Bonds) had he not used steroids. I consider 1. Hank Aaron 2. Babe Ruth 3. Albert Pujols.

GameCard…Haha! Yeah, but think about all those phoney taters he would have hit in ’14 if he wouldn’t have been busy serving his 1 year suspension and wining and dining Jello…er…uhh, JLo!

GameCard…We need DeJong’s big bat to be available to PH off the bench in a high stakes game situation, so let’s hope Eddie’s in the starting line-up at SS today…

Eddie will be in the starting line-up IMO. They said yesterday that it was a scheduled day off. Personally, I would not take a hot hitter out of the lineup for a scheduled day off.

Edman batting second, at SS. That’s the least controversial thing about todays lineup. Oli left the well beaten path today is an understatement.

Let’s see now, how many “scheduled days off” did Cal Ripkin need per month?

On more pressing subject, I’ve just popped the ol’ chicken into the oven for roasting, potatoes to follow in about 20 mins, and the snap beans await snapping.

Let’s see if we can’t give these Pirates a hearty sendoff back to .., what was the name of that baseball diamond again?

    Rah Cardinals!

We have 8 farmhands starting today. Only Dickerson in LF as the only non-homegrown lineup member.

I can’t wait to read the reactions to this lineup 😳

There was a big pile of green stuff that moved through the Pittsburgh area this morning. It’s all gone now and it appears as if it’s smooth sailing in this one. But with those three rivers close by one just never knows.

The line-up is fine except for Arenado and Goldy. Marmol didn’t do this without a good reason.

Marmol’s hoping Freddie goes 0-5 today so Goldy can catch him in the BA race while sitting in the dugout…

Tomorrow is a day off so Oli is going for double rest. They may PH later. Reminds me of a LaRussa decision.

Does a post-season roster still allow 26 players?

Edit; Nevermind, I looked it up. I thought maybe they went back to the 25 man. Hard to keep up with all the rules these days. Still 3 outs per half inning, right?

Great question, TD. Not sure, but I’d give it about a 90% chance that the rosters will be at 26 for post season play.

Nice to see the traditional uniforms today. Friday was bizarro and I’m not crazy about yesterday’s uniforms that have the “St. Louis” script instead of “Cardinals” on the front of the jerseys. No one needs to see the city’s name. When they see the iconic birds on the bat, they know where this team’s from.

Here here, TD! Cards go down 1-2-3 in the 1st, two (Dickerson and Edman) via strike out.

Quintana returns the favor and quickly dispatches the Pirates in order in the bottom of the 1st.

Well if pujols had done steroids like Rodriguez did, he would have long since passed Rodrigues if he hadn’t got suspended along the way.

1982willie…If Albert would have remained a Cardinal, I honestly believe we’d be talking about # 756 right now…

As in the season is over? We do have an eight game lead right?
