Well looks like everybodys got hangover from yesterday. Didn’t go well but it really got outa hand. On the good side we got 6 but they got 12. Luckily I fell asleep in the 7th so that worked for me. Jacks back today. Could be a good nickname- Flap Jack! Guess we’ll see. Would be nice to see the big boys get restarted. O’Niel or Donovan behind Nado for RHP and Albert for LHP?
Din-din will be the pizza I didn’t cook yesterday and tomorrow the pork chops I didn’t cook Wednesday. I think…maybe.
    Go Cardinals!

Flaherty takes his 5th turn of ’22 today and hopefully he can exceed his avg. for IP per GS this season which right now is 3.1 IP per start. He K’d 6 in 5 IP in his last start vs. DC, and it seemed to me that virtually every hit of the 6 he allowed occured at a time when he was in command of the count at 0-2 or 1-2. The Redbirds are 1-3 in Jack’s 4 turns thus far in ’22.

I hate weekend night games. Abner must be raging in his grave. A curse on those who invented it.

Nonetheless, I shall consume my filet steak, freñch fries and salad, and, if madame CiF isn’t looking, a chocolate sundae while cheering for Jack to mow ’em down.

    Rah Cardinals!

Steak and fries sounds dreamy, CiF. Here at Chez Bling I see a couple of turnips sitting by the cutting board and I ask myself, ‘what good can come of that?’

I do not expect wonders from Our Jack, but I have to think that the DP begun and ended by the right fielder was a good omen. Now, if said right fielder can remember which end of the bat to hold it will help tremendously.

If the Pirates are wearing Cardinal uniforms tonight someone needs to be fired.

I agree TD, last night’s game was visually disorienting. By the way, I have discovered that din din will be a shepherd’s pie made with a course lamb mince from the butcher shop.

Bling…”Disorienting” is the right term. At one point I thought the Redbirds had fought back with a rally as I glanced at the TV after returning from the kitchen with a bowl of ice cream and saw Pirates circling the bases.

Pujols and DeJong in the lineup. No Edman…why?

Goldschmidt better get himself turned around. Freddie Freeman is right on his heels for the batting title. And yes, I realize that batting average doesn’t mean anything anymore.

Noot has gone from everyday top of the order to sitting on the bench. I approve as this is no time for Ofers. Meanwhile the former DFA candidate, Dickerson, bats second, and deservedly so.

Why sit the hot bat, Edman, I don’t know. Maybe the computer glitched out.

DeJong has had a handful of good games at Forbes Field. Didn’t he crank three homers in a game there 2-3 years ago?

There is a big pile of green stuff just south of Pittsburgh. It looks like it’s headed right towards Three Rivers Stadium. We might be fortunate to get this game in tonight without at least a delay or postponement.

There is only a 2% chance of rain in Pittsburg. They play at PNC Park…3 rivers stadium has ceased to exist as of 2000.

I distinctly remember watching the first ever WS game played at night at Three Rivers Stadium in 1971. It was a pretty big deal back then. Also, I remember if you lived in a NL city, you really held allegiance and pulled for the team that represented the NL in both the WS and All Star games.

That’s a good one. Everyone know the Pirates play at Forbes Field.

I just flipped the TV on to tune in to the game. Was about to open the humidor and grab a cigar and then lift Whitey Herdog up onto the couch. Then I discover the game doesn’t start for another hour. Either way, we are doomed. Doomed I tell you. And I guarantee you that if we don’t go into that San Diego series at Jack Murphy Stadium with at least a seven game lead then we may as well turn out the lights.

Bling…That may or may not be true, but they’ve never played a WS game at night at Forbes Field… Come to think of it, they’ve never played a WS game at any time at PNC, and the way things are going, probably never will…

Don’t know why, but this game was pushed back an hour from the start time listed in my trusty pocket size folding schedule that I get from the gas station every spring. I guess it ain’t so trusty anymore.

If Brian made us all change names, the perfect handle for Rat would be “That70’sGuy”, as Rat truly has. not turned the calendar since December 31st, 1979. And really, who could blame Rat? All of we old timers are so very fortunate to have experienced the the two greatest decades in America history……the 70’s and 80’s. If I had to switch my name from Pugs, I would opt for my original handle of “HeHateMeToo”. Only UCON still calls me that.

Loved some of tonight’s din-din delights……from Wooster’s homemade pizza to Bling’s rack of lamb to Cardinal In France’s filet and chocolate sundae……it really doesn’t get much better than these.

Lest I forget. Din-din today was a Ribeye steak in the air fryer, a couple ears of Aces High Sweet Corn, a Pepsi, and a piece of Angel Food cake with dark chocolate icing. Yum yum.

Me and Whitey Herdog are heading towards the couch now. Whitey was sick last night. She was up most of the night, walking around chewing and digging on stuff. She threw up twice during the night. Quite a bit both times. She seems to have settled down so far today. Fingers are crossed.

Pugs…One of the best things about the 80’s were the classic cars from Detroit…For instance, I had the ’85 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible. You know, the one with the wood grain body panels! Those were sweet and no trees were harmed for materials used…I used to ride around in that thing dressed in my Cardinal red Sansabelt slacks and white Gucci loafers…Man, you talk about a babe magnet! That K-Car was definitely one for the ages…
