Well i wonder if the offense is going to improve tonight. outside of one game, edmon hasnt really hit so i wouldnt mind them maybe putting miller or fowler batting second, cant believe im saying fowler but there it is. Otherwise its a crap shoot, nobody is really hitting so you get about the same results no matter who you sit. Its a lefty on the mound so you might go with bader but hes struggled and with that error last night, im thinking hes going to sit. Though miley is far better against left handed batters so putting aright handed lineup out there makes sense.

Maybe have Fowler lead off and Wong hit 2nd.

Cards got 3 hits in 4 1/3 innings last night and scored 2 runs off a guy with an ERA in the 5s. Of course he helped us with 4 walks. Maybe tonight we can “get” to a pitcher who has retired 5 batters in each of his 2 starts and has an ERA of 16+.

The Reds have a lefty going tonight so that may impact who is in our lineup also.

With the lefty going we do have three switch hitters and a gang of rightys. Only Wong and Carp (not sure about Miller) are limited to the left side so Shildt should be able to put up a decent lineup on days when we face lefties. I suspect Carlson will either play in the field or be the DH today.

Too bad about the Blues but the Cards will have the prime spot on FS-M now. Really been a screwed up sports year.

    2 of 3 outfielders batting 8th and 9th.

Sixteen games in and something very important has been lost on our game threads. Here’s what I’m having for din-din on this fine Saturday evening. Seared Ahi tuna laced with chimichurri sauce and avocado, lemon garlic butter shrimp over a steaming bed of Basmati rice, home grown Wisconsin tomatoes drenched in salt and pepper and a tall glass of Mountain Dew. I’m calling tonight’s affair 7-3 Birds with Carlson finding the upper reaches of the left field rafters. Mark tonight as the game where Dylan Carlson kicks it into gear.

i would have miller over carpenter just because i think miller can do more off a lefty.

I would want Miller because I don’t want Carpenters option to kick in. How many PA does he need for the auto kicker?

Pugs, that’s a nice din-din. I’m having pork chops(thin breakfast chops, bone-in,lightly peppered and salted) grilled on my PK Grill. I’m going to couple those with a batch of fresh purple hull peas. For those, I fry about a half pound of bacon and sauté with a yellow onion, pablano pepper, and garlic; then throw in the peas and boil (low) for 45 minutes.

I’m going to boil a head of cabbage down (add 1 can of chicken broth), with some black pepper. Also gonna have fresh sliced Arkansas tomatoes, lightly peppered and salted of course. To drink, I’ll be opening a bottle of Anne Amie Pinot Noir. Just poured my first gin and tonic, sitting here watching a pretty boring golf tournament, waiting for the Cards to come on.

I see Tyler O’Neill, responding to Shildt batting him clean-up, crushing one up into Big Mac land. Cards roll tonight.

Thanks Forschster! That dinner you have in the hopper is nothing to sneeze at either, Tinky. Your cooking instructions was a very nice additional touch as well. If you have no vehement objections, I’ll be plagiarizing every ounce of that marvelous dinner. And Rat…..I was having similar problems posting. I tried everything, but nothing would work. Finally, I grabbed one of my work phones and walla!…..here I am. Go Birds!

I was at a local festival today, so my dinner was a sausage sandwich, a giant plate of curly fries and birch beer on tap. Really hit the spot.

I’ll say the Cards tag Miley for 6 runs tonight to continue his misery and win going away, 9-4. Goldy hits a dinger and Carlson adds two doubles and 3 RBIs.

Plagiarize all you want, Pugs. (The key to the peas is not to drain the bacon grease). 😉

Appreciate that, Tinky! Those peas will be so saturated with bacon grease that they will be oinking their way all the way down my tummy. And Stlcard25…..talk about the perfect compliment……”birch beer”…..love it! Looks like tonight’s first pitch is just about upon us. I’m feeling super good about this one, gang! And when I feel like this we win at about a 96.4% clip.

A scoreless 1st with Goldy registering the only base hit.

A good maneuver putting Bader right back on his horse and not letting him sit. The move should pay off with a nice effort from the Cards centerfold tonight.

Darn spell check! That should read “centerfielder”. Hey whatever happened to redo button or whatever it was called, so we could correct out screwups?

Yadi- with a one out base knock to left. Let’s stay with the action shall we?

Fowler – Hits it on the ground to Galvis at short and this has “deuce” written all over it…short flip to Moustakas at 2nd for one and the throw over to Votto’s waiting mitt at 1st completes the twin killing.

    No score

Pugs, in the gray bar just above your comment, in about the center of the page going to the right, is a list of commands. The first one in the list is EDIT. That is the one you need.

That bottom of our order tonight should somewhat conjure up resemblances of Murderer’s Row. Carlson & Bader should be a two man wrecking crew in this game. We’ll find out shortly here.
