    Hey guys, first time poster/long time lurker here. Thought I’d take a shot at answering willie’s above question about the financials.

    After being DFA’d, he goes on waivers for 7 days, during which time the Angels will try to trade him (unlikely) or hope somebody claims him and takes on the remainder of his contract (won’t happen). After 7 days he will most likely be released and the Angels will be responsible for the remainder of his contract no matter what he does. He then will be a free agent, and can sign with any team that wants him for a prorated amount of the league minimum, if I’m not mistaken, for the rest of the season.

    Please correct me if I’m wrong, but that is my understanding of the DFA procedure.
