In the event the Cardinals finish the 2018 regular season tied for a Postseason berth, a tiebreaker game will be held at Busch Stadium on Monday, October 1.
Tiebreaker game tickets start at just $10 and will go on sale Tuesday, September 25 at 10 AM CT. Tickets will be available at cardinals.com, via phone at 314.345.9000, and at the Busch Stadium Box Office.
If played, this would be the second tiebreaker scenario in Cardinals history. In 1946, the Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers finished with identical 96-58 records, setting up the first-ever best-of-three playoff series (which was used until divisional play in 1969). The Cardinals won the tiebreaker series and eventually went on to win the 1946 World Series. Monday’s potential game would be the first one-game tiebreaker in Cardinals franchise history.
Tickets for potential NL Wild Card and Division Series games are currently on sale. For a full calendar of the 2018 MLB Postseason schedule, visit mlb.com/postseason.
September 24, 2018 at 1:50 pm #70504Brian,
Since the tiebreaker is in St. Louis I would assume that’s because the Cardinals won the season series against the Rockies, correct? Or was it just the luck of the draw?r/Rat
September 24, 2018 at 2:01 pm #70505The Cards won the season series against the Rockies and Dodgers. They currently are tied 8-8 against the Brewers and lead 9-7 against the Cubs.
September 24, 2018 at 2:31 pm #70508$30 just to get into the park for the wild card.
Also tickets this week for the clash with the brew crew are really cheap. Seen some all inclusive going for $50 and RF and LF loge going for $10.
September 25, 2018 at 11:34 pm #70837They have the season series versus the Rockies also. And the Dodgers.
September 25, 2018 at 11:43 pm #70838Wow, it would be crazy if the Cards could play the Cubs in the Wild Card game. It might happen if the Cards can get their act together.
