Judging by attendance, there won’t be many dissapointed GS. Take another 5yrs to rebuild and the majority will be hangry.
Now that schools are letting out and the weather is warming up if we stay close to first place I think we will see an uptick in attendance.
Marmol and the boys in the dugout are basically telling the suits upstairs to take their reset and shove it. Good for them.

jj-cf-stlParticipantVery enjoyable too, being in late and close games. That’s a big change from last season where blowouts were too common by the third or fourth inning.
May 16, 2025 at 4:15 pm #282310Interesting stuff. The mental component of competitive athletic performance can be so tricky and high-impact.
May 16, 2025 at 6:13 pm #282316The mental component, specifically confidence, is a huge part of successful athletic competition. It is the same in other life endeavors as well, but I have found that it is a bit more impactful in sports than some other vocations.

Sure it’s natural but I remember we were in the Wild Card 2nd and 3rd spot for a couple of months last season and the stadium wasn’t that close to capacity except for a handful of occasions. If the front runners didn’t believe then, why would they now?
This FO isn’t going to do much even if we are in the division or WC chase-lead. I could honestly see them dealing Helsley and either Matz or Fedde even if we have some momentum. It’s sad but I could see it happening and I’m not always the one to put the blame on the FO for the last couple of seasons.
May 17, 2025 at 9:18 pm #282538Sorry, get most of my info on the internet. (Cable channel for Cards game stinks, to be polite. Too much pixelation to watch.) Just curious who exactly is running things above Marmol. Still read complaints about/see the occasional head scratching decisions, but is someone else reading the spreadsheets, or do you think Marmol has a bit of Schildt coming out in his personality? Doing his own thing to save a chance at being here next year.
May 17, 2025 at 9:58 pm #282542It’s the turns from the rotation that have allowed the team to turn the proverbial corner. Just like always, it’s the pitching.
May 18, 2025 at 12:23 pm #282561Correct 1TD. Pitching and defense will take you a long way in this game. The last two weeks our rotation and bullpen have been lights out. It is hard to lose when you don’t give up any runs.
May 18, 2025 at 5:42 pm #282612I have always relied on you to do math for me.
