Pretty hot outside today…Is there a possibility that Goldschmidt may heat up?

All 4 Giant RBI’s come with 2 outs. Those are killers.

Somebody remind Goldy he’s washed up.

If Donny finds grass it’s a different game.

So good to see Goldy making consistent, solid contact. Hope it continues. Now, Arenado needs to heat up.

Haha…Burleson with the huge 2 out, 3 run tater!

I’d say that’s the biggest hit of his career thus far.

Who is the back up catcher behind Pages until Contreras takes the main starting spot back?

Someone once said Donovan can man up behind HP.

I did see that Herrera went on the IL or is he just taking a couple of days off?

Ah, I found it. Raposo called up from AAA to back up Pages. So we are on our 3rd and 4th string catchers for now…

10 day IL for Herrera. Rapunzel recalled from Memphis…

Raposo has been around for quite a few years. He’s almost always been the backup at every level. He’s not much of a hitter but is an average defender. I’m guessing they decided Contreras needed a couple more days of rehab. They will just DFA Raposo when that roster spot is needed. There’s very little risk that anyone takes him and if they do take him, it’s not really a loss.

Best I can tell, the Cardinal BP catcher is paid right at $80K annually. That’s not too bad, but couldn’t that money be better spent on a RH’ed bat off the bench?

    Burly again?!?!

    Somebody wants a game ball!
    Better win then.

Whoa Mama…Burleson to the deepest part of the ballpark for his second 2 run tater of the afternoon!

On the bright side, if we can get 5 more runs, we can play Raposo. And if we get 12 more runs, then we can play Gallegos.

Burleson with 5 RBI’s and 9 TB’s today and he may get 1 more chance at the plate.

Ok. That was some ridiculously slow base running to first by Arenado. Yadi would have beat that infield grounder out. Nolan was still out by 4 steps.

And he would have scored on the Donovan homer.

Finally not a close game? Maybe?

Donovan with the 4th Cardinal HR of the day provides a softer cushion.

Just tuned in, but it is great to see Burly tapping into some power. Good to see Donovan and Goldy with HRs. Winn with a good game as well.
