Hopefully Lynn gets through 6 just to save the pen. Not because our other 5 are tired, but because we may essentially have a BP game coming up.

    Good job Lance.

I foresee a Loutos debut next inning.

Lance doing the 3 up 3 down, rinse, repeat

Another hardscrabble, workmanlike performance from Lynn.

The Cards hitters should be all over this guy. Every time he throws a splitter, you can see his forearm moving around as he is digging into the glove for the split grip. But he K’s all of the batters he faces

I’m in no hurry to get to the pen.

5 strikeouts in a row for Cruz against us. He’s maybe got the best peripherals in their bullpen, but still not a good performance.

Liberatore in with 2 lefties coming up. Maybe he’ll stay in the pen then?

    Libby into the game.

I guess that means Pallante starts on Wednesday?

The E’s by the two GG’s place LL in line for the loss, but I’d say he outpitched his counterpart. Hopefully the bats can get him off the hook in the last two innings.

I’d have let Lance take himself out.

Every time I see Liberatore make an appearance I strongly suspect he may have been mentored by Steven Matz.

I understand why a pitcher would pitch around De La Cruz with first open. But I’d rather see a confident Liberatore going after hitters with all his stuff than a cautious Liberatore trying to nibble.

I agree Jnevel. I would also add that if the manager doesn’t have confidence in Libby getting out of that inning then why bring him in the game in the first place? Why even have him on the roster?

Well, we walked the bases loaded but got out of it.

3 walks is not a good game plan.

    Find a way boys

First base was open when he walked the lead-off man…Lucky to escape that inning still down by two.

We have really caught the strikeout bug. Ugh.

I guess I was wrong on Loutos. I would have pitched him. I get that we’re only 2 runs down. But I’d rather have Leahy pitch longer in the likely BP game upcoming.
