9 is by far our highest inning of the year, right? I’m not sure we’ve had over 5 or 6 in one inning prior.
I’m only guessing, but I’d have to say the last time the Cardinals scored more than 9 runs in the first inning was during the deciding game 5 of the ’19 NLDS.
Not over til it’s over – Lynn gave up double figure runs in a total of less than three innings his last time out. Wouldn’t think he would do that twice in a row, but man that was dreadful.
Now we just need Lance to go 6 innings and give up say 4 or less runs. That would be perfect. That should give us full leverage in the pen for the remaining 2 games.

The resident guru on another message board just can’t concede that he misjudged Burleson’s ability. He’s been a Burleson critic for a long time. Now, he sarcastically, calls Burleson “Bumbles”. He can call him anything he pleases. No biggie, I guess. I, like many of you, are pretty happy Burleson is a Cardinal regular.
Pages a hit this time to tack on one more. We will see if Counsell sticks with Wesneski and saves his bullpen. Might as well let him get to around 100 pitches f you are the Chicago skipper, as honestly, he deserves better. We have not exactly hit ropes all over the place.
