With men on base this season, Goldschmidt is sub .200 BA with one extra base hit. His career OPS with men on base is .954.

I could say this about almost any unsuccessful pitcher, but whenever Liberatore misses, he misses belt high.

I wasn’t able to watch, but seeing his pitch locations he was really missing up today. I wonder if he was flying open on pitches today. Definitely not a good outing.

LA – now we have 4 guys over .700.

I know he is 0 for – but if you’re going to pinch hit for Siani, why not use Carlson batting righty? He gives the added bonus of better defense than Burleson out there.

This time Goldy turns on his ball magnet with the bases loaded and gets plunked.

The last time the Cards got at least 6 runs was April 27. The time before that – April 12.

John King mowing the Angels down tonight. He and Leahy have really protected the pen tonight.

The batters have taken a huge number of walks the last couple games. I wonder if it is an initiative or just bad pitching. Whatever it is, we are taking advantage. It is very encouraging to see the dead bats coming to life finally. The pen did well also. It all makes Marmol look a lot smarter.

In the three games since Carpenter has been back, they have recorded 12, 11 & 10 hits.

Maybe he is providing that “veteran leadership.”

Sign him to a three year extension.

Quite the offensive explosion last night. Hopefully the start of the bats turning around for the rest of the year.
