It seemed like a lot of posters here were bullish on Thompson and Pallante this Spring.
At some point, it might be better to give some 4A guys a few major league innings

Yeah, Pallante was relegated to mop up duty today and Thompson allowed another 3 ER’s in 0.2 IP’ed.

I tried to tell y’all this team was a joke. It’s the worst operated baseball franchise in MLB. The worst. It’s an outright embarrassment this franchise can’t find one guy that can play CF and hit the ball into the outfield. It’s an embarrassment that they spent millions for three guys pitching over age 35. It’s an embarrassment that they extended a joke of a manager. It’s an embarrassment that they continue to employ John Freaking Mozeliak. It won’t get better until they have a total reset, starting with firing the entire front office and field leadership. They’ve got to go.

Texas Card, you have hit the nail right on the head! I do not believe we will ever compete again until we have new ownership and new FO from head to toe! They have destroyed this once proud franchise and are still being rewarded for it! There are plenty of franchises that spend far less than us and compete all year! People need to stop going and stop watching until things change at the top!

The season has just started. A long way to go. I wouldn’t draw any conclusions yet.

To each his own! That, just keep waiting and something good will happen is a major reason we are in the sad shape we are in IMO!

Last season the team never recovered from their horrid start. Yeah it’s early – I usually like to wait until the end of May to see what’s what but last season it didn’t take that long…

Yeah what a train wreck it’s been in the early going this season, but let’s take a gander at the bright side. We’re only 3 games under .500 and no team in the division appears capable of taking the bull by the horn and running away from the pack. Nobody is hitting and nobody(other than Gray) is pitching….yet we’re still just a few games off the pace. I think we should give it a little more time before we seriously start thinking of which Cards we’re going to discard before the trading deadline hits. Slumps don’t last forever…….I’m thinking a nice winning streak is just around the bend.

A couple things… The lineup today featured 3 guys with current batting averages lower than Waino’s .192 lifetime average, pretty sad
Also doe anyone know the announced attendance at Busch for today? The UFL Battlehawks had an announced attendance of 31,700 today. I live across the river on Springfield. So I have no idea. But is there any buzz for the minor league football team down there? I’ve been a Cardinal fan for 53 years. But I watched more of the Battlehawk game today than our hapless birds. They are so depressing
It just seems like wash rinse, and repeat from last year

Do I need to remind people saying “lets wait until more games get played before making judgements” that the FO extended Marmol for the sole reason that they knew this year was going to suck?

Mikolas turns 36 this summer and his last (and only) winning season was 6 years ago. So I don’t know what expectations people had or why they had them. He’s been a guy who can answer the bell and turn in 200 innings. At this stage he is not going to magically turn into a winning pitcher.

Ordinarily I’d agree it’s early. But not this time.

The last 183 games have been exactly the same. That’s no small sample size. This group does the same thinga over and over expecting a different result. The exact definition of insanity.

At this point last season the team was 8-12 (6 games back), and this season 9-12 (5 games back). Nothing has changed except a couple of names on the jerseys. A loss today and they will be exactly where they were a year ago 23 April. If anything they are consistently bad.

Again, a major league team went 21 games before a player playing CF hit the ball to the outfield grass. That’s laughably horrid. That’s a John Mozeliak special right there. Exactly what the computer genius drew up for his puppet manager to lead.

Its not early folks. This group is right on pace for what they are. A badly operated franchise heading for another dismal finish. The quicker you realize it the quicker maybe the owner realizes his wallet is taking hits and heads start to roll. Until then get used to the losing as it’s what they do best.

DL Hall made the worst start yesterday that we have faced this season (GmSc of 33) and we got blew out at home.

Fact: we’re on a 3 game skid since Oli quit on his team in game #19, but lets worry about losing later in the season, because we overworked the pen now? From 2 back, to 5 back (NLC), just like that.

The deadline season is 100 games long. Keep this up and Bill sells off and reclaims another 8 to 10mil at the deadline, trading away mlb salaries for suspects.

    Slip sliding away…..
