I still can’t get over looking at the AL standings and seeing the Tigers holding the second ALWC slot. And the Royals are trying to avoid losing their 8th in row and are tied 0-0 in the 4th in DC.

You and the “lovely Lady Bike” are taking home din-din of the night honors, Mike. That sounds like one mean batch of chicken enchiladas over a bed of wild rice. I think next year on our game threads we’ll have din-din of the game awards, with all sorts of neat prizes and stuff. You know one of these years good ole’ Pugs is going to hang them up down at the salt mines. And when that happens, two things are going to take place. First off, I’ll have tons of time to bone up on what’s going on with both our baby Birds and our big Birds……resulting in a keenly informative poster, which is something you all aren’t used to out of me. And Secondly, my cherished place of employment, which I’ve called home all of these years, will in all likelihood go out of business within one calendar year without my presence.

I’ve always felt that this Colorado starting pitcher was much better than people think he is. I could definitely see him thriving in a Cards uni.

    Just 3 words……McGreevy can pitch.

Winn smacks a tater to left with Siani on board (via a single and a SB) and it’s 2-0 Birds.

As a quick aside, I’ve seen more chatter in libraries than in our game threads over the last couple of weeks. You can literally hear a pin drop around here these days…….put it to the test and drop one just like I just did.

Shucks!….Schunk just drilled a solo shot to left to slice the Redbird advantage in half here in the bottom of the 3rd.

Cards go down in order in the 4th. Need to get those bats going next inning after holding the Rockies down in the bottom of the 4th.

Thank you cardsfan64. Through 4 complete now and McGreevy has yielded just 1 hit, the homer to Schunk, in a 2-1 St. Louis ballgame.

Burly has cooled considerably at the dish in the second half of the season…..and on cue he lines a 1 out base knock to center. Tired? Have pitchers adjusted?

    I’m lurking Pugs.

McGreevy gives up a leadoff double in the 5th, but still pitching well.

Walked the next batter but gets a double play next pitch. 2 outs with a runner on third. Take care of him, kid!

Slow roller to third ties the game as Arenado had no chance to make a play.

Blackman lines a shot into the right-centerfield gap for a triple, and the Rockies take the lead with a runner on third; still 2 outs.

Sweet……with both Bling and cardsfan64 in the house, it’s like this game thread has standing room only. A Blackmon triple ties this baby up at 2-2 with 2 out in the 5th……McGreevy now at 83 heaves on the evening

Nice strikeout to end the inning. Boys have some work to do in the 6th.

McG got knocked around but didn’t let it get too out of hand. That’s a good sign. I’m glad Ollie didn’t come running out to hook him at the first sign of trouble.

Our guys need to start swinging at the first pitch! Feltner is grooving the first pitch knowing our guys are taking. Down in order in the 6th. John King relieving in the bottom of the 6th. 2 quick outs as I type this.

Need I mention its another 5 inning start.

After allowing a single, King strikes out the next batter. Going to the 7th still down 3-2.

Yeah Bling, McG was at 83 pitches, not sure why he didn’t come out for the 6th. Maybe they just wanted the lefty to pitch to that part of the order.

Feltner leaves the game after one pitch in the 7th. Some type of injury, so RHP Vodnick comes in to relieve.

Jordan really struggling with recognizing downward spin. He swings and misses at everything 3-6 inches below the zone.
