jj-cf-stlParticipantTeam D better be on. A shoebox strike zone will test it.
September 2, 2024 at 1:43 pm #266362Are we still in the dog days of summer? You know, I’m not sure exactly when the dog days of summer starts and when the dog days of summer end? If I had to guess, I’d say from June 1st to September 1st.
September 2, 2024 at 1:46 pm #266364Wow we got a break on the challenge….he did beat the throw to 1st by a titch…..a very small titch, but a titch is still indeed a titch.
September 2, 2024 at 1:51 pm #266365I don’t care what anyone says, Pedro Pages can hit……and we just saw Exhibit A of this as he just whacked a leadoff 3rd inning tater……he’s your boy, Jnevel. 3-1 Crew…..let’s bite into this deficit a bit more shall we?
September 2, 2024 at 2:04 pm #266366
jj-cf-stlParticipantPedro’s swing looks like he’d hit lefties better, in my limited view of him, and then he takes righties yard and you wonder if he could grow into neutral splits.
September 2, 2024 at 2:09 pm #266367In the early going here, Pallante has issued more walks than Cesar Millan….let’s hope that changes quickly. Runners straddling 1st and 2nd with just 1 out here in the bottom of the 3rd in a 3-1 Milwaukee ballgame. Bauers whiffs, Pallante’s 2nd vs 4 free passes…..and oh oh, here comes Wild Willie Adames again in yet another 3 run HR opportunity…..does this guy ever come up with fewer than 2 runners on base? Not this time as he grounds out to short.
September 2, 2024 at 2:16 pm #266368Well lookie there…..here we are with 1 out in the top of the 4th inning and we have the game’s first hit that wasn’t a round tripper, compliments of a Donovan base knock to center…..now let’s get a few more of them.
Goldy whiffs
Nooty with a base hit to right with Donovan racing on over to 3rd.
Walker ……doesn’t get a chance to hit as some terribly careless base running puts an end to that
September 2, 2024 at 2:25 pm #266369A Hoskins 2 run bombaroo to left extends the Milwaukee advantage to 5-1. Not an insurmountable lead though…..still time to get these guys.
September 2, 2024 at 2:27 pm #266370I think me and possibly JJ may be the last two game threaders standing…..might be time to go for a jog.
September 2, 2024 at 2:33 pm #266371
jj-cf-stlParticipantAndre has been better vs righties but not today. HR’s can’t be part of that traffic.
September 2, 2024 at 2:37 pm #266372I see the Brewers are having better luck with Walker.
September 2, 2024 at 2:39 pm #266373Sorry it’s lonely in here Pugs. I gave up on the major league team a couple weeks ago, although I still check in at least daily to see how things are going. Gameday shows that Pallante should have struck out 2 guys in the first that went down as walks prior to that 3 run homer. I guess that’s baseball for you. Some days it doesn’t matter if you’re good or bad. There are only so many things you can control.
And thanks for another call-out on Pages for me. I love that guy.
And speaking of Pages . . . There goes another ball out of the park.

jj-cf-stlParticipantThe catcher battle is enjoyable. The competition can’t be avoided. Show-Me
September 2, 2024 at 2:51 pm #266377
jj-cf-stlParticipantThe lineup scored 14 yesterday. This ain’t over.
September 2, 2024 at 3:03 pm #266378
stlcard25ParticipantInching back into it. We need some of that Pages power to come with men on base.
September 2, 2024 at 3:04 pm #266379Maybe this game will end up being the memorable “Pages ties Whitten for home runs in a game” game.
September 2, 2024 at 3:07 pm #266380I heard that next season the Cardinals are considering removing the clause out of reliever contracts where they all get a bonus for walking the first guy they face. That’s probably going to help balance the budget with attendance down so much.
September 2, 2024 at 3:11 pm #266381
jj-cf-stlParticipantWell, this is why he’s up here. Sacks full….
September 2, 2024 at 3:16 pm #266382
jj-cf-stlParticipant9-3
Guess I’ll buff something.September 2, 2024 at 3:16 pm #266383KeepComingBack
ParticipantHey Booyah why didn’t you tell us this guy was a bum!
September 2, 2024 at 3:22 pm #266384Another bonehead move by Marmol. All Leahy has done is get outs and has not pitched in awhile. All O’Brien has done is stink up the place and has pitched in two of the last three games.
Yeah, it’s time. Give it the rest of the year but we can’t compete with a manager that makes so many mistakes.
September 2, 2024 at 3:23 pm #266385He’s not suited for any role with this team but someone within our fine organization decided he was worth DFA Armstrong. Oh well gents! He threw jet fuel on the brush fire.
September 2, 2024 at 3:26 pm #266386Who was it on here that referred to the Cardinal pitcher as Riley “Taters” Obrien? No potato famine with this guy. He more closely resembles a potato cannon.
September 2, 2024 at 3:27 pm #266387We’re back to facing real competition in the NLC.
September 2, 2024 at 3:28 pm #266388Looks like the Brewers are taking an opportunity on this Labor Day to really go to work and fully establish who’s entirely in charge of things in the NLC.
