Will we see Matz in this series?

And din-din on this Labor Day will be a can of Italian Cut green beans and a couple of small baked potatoes. Then a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. Topped off with a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar whilst me and Whitey Herdog are on the couch tuning in to the game.

Din-din tonight will be cantaloupe melon. followed by chicken pot pie using leftover meat from yesterday’s roasted chicken, salad, and finishing up with chocolate/raspberry cake. All washed down with a couple of cool glasses of Chablis.

    Siani or Scott?

I dont think we want both of them on the same outfield do we? I don’t know that either makes a great 4th OF option.

It feels like Scott has more upside doesn’t it?

With Siani ready to come back and the playoffs out of reach – What to do?

At this point if we’re not making the playoffs then all a too little, too late run does is damage our draft position unless it is done with our young pitchers – I could see a benefit there. Gray and Pallante will be back for sure. Adios Lynn and Gibson, Scruffy got worked again yesterday and if the team is at all serious about making the playoffs next season Mikolas will NOT be in the rotation. It really is just that simple Bill, man up and eat the contract.

I would like to see Siani, Scott and Walker out there.

I think Siani and Scott battle it out next Spring for the starting center field job. For now I don’t know – maybe play Scott in left. I like Siani better in center than Victor. Noot had a nice game yesterday so he is in the mix as well.

This club has shown us something. They definitely battle and do not have any “quit” in them. That is one of the few positive things I have seen from our manager, as he gets some credit for that. Still not a big Marmol fan, but this club has a lot of character. Whatever happens with Ollie, he can take pride in that.

Like the late great Earl Weaver used to say…..”you always gotta chance when your Ace is going”. Easy for Earl to say as he had 4 Ace’s in his deck for a few years. Could you imagine that modern day starting rotation payroll of Palmer, Cuellar, McNally & Dobson? It might rival half the GNP of Guatemala. Anyway, Pallante toeing the rubber this afternoon at least gives us a sliver of a chance vs Peralta & Co. Over/Under Peralta K’s would be 9 this afternoon and Over/Under Burleson home runs today would be 1. Very difficult to match Labor Day din-dins with Rat and Cardinal in France, but taking 3rd place vs those two modern day Julia Childs’ is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. I’ll be dishing up corned beef, sour kraut, fresh deep red tomato slices heavily riddled with salt and pepper and homemade dark chocolate butter pecan pie for dessert. Normally I would be attending today’s game, but decided to stay home on this holiday instead, as the traffic around Milwaukee County Stadium (that was for you Rat) is going to be absolutely brutal this afternoon with both the game traffic and returning holiday drivers.

Our holiday BBQ fell apart due to people going down sick with covid symptoms or whatever. I’ll be having a braunschweiger sandwich, dill pickle spears and potato chips. I have a couple bottles of good German beer I’ve been saving for a time like this.

Of course, the main question is simply this:

WILL FRONT ROW AMY BE IN ATTENDANCE TODAY?

    Sure hope so……

Covid is running rampant up here in the frozen tundra too, Bling. I’ve only had it once that I know of and I’ve had minor colds that adversely effected me more. FRA ( that’s “Front Row Amy” to the novice baseball follower ) should be front and center today for your viewing pleasure, Rat.

Cards go down in order in the 1st and nary a K to be found, which is very unusual for a Peralta authored inning.

I did some grilling today and just finished a feast of a thick burger, a juicy nathan’s hot dog, chips, potato salad, cole slaw, and a big glass of diet mountain dew. I don’t eat that much everyday but today is a good day to splurge since it is a holiday.

The Cardinals won’t do it but I like bling’s idea of Scott, Siani, and Walker in the OF. That sounds like an OF that Whitey Herzog would go with.

I’ve always considered it bad form to ogle woman younger than my oldest daughter. But FRA is only 1 year younger (yes I googled it) so in this particular case, I am making an exception to that rule.😉

The King of 3 run taters, Willie Adames, strolls plateward with 2 on and 2 out….compliments of a couple Pallante free passes. Adames has 12 3-run bombs on the year to go along fine with his 96 rbi. Let’s stay with the action shall we?

-Adames – On 3-2 Wild Willy lofts one high and deep to left and thar she blows……gone…..3-0 Crew. That’s his 29th dinger on this his 29th birthday.

Since Pallante yielded 2 free passes in his first inning today, KeepComingBack can be granted a free pass on his “ogling” of the sultry FRA.

Pallante didn’t get any favors from the ump the previous batter. Ademes should’ve been up in the 2nd with no one on.

Wow kind of looked like Donovan was more worried about his batting helmet falling off than reaching 1st base ahead of the throw.

The Brewers don’t need 5 outs an inning to rack up runs.

Nooty walks, thus putting an abrupt end to any possible Peralta perfect game aspirations with 2 down here in the top of the 2nd. Can Walker continue his torrid batting streak here in Milwaukee? On 3-2 Walker strikes out swinging on a curve ball a bit wide of the zone.

You posters are right. That was definitely strike three to Bauer. The score should be 0-0 heading to the last of the 2nd. It was CLEARLY strike three!

    Thank you Alfonso Marquez……..
