To throw like that and flick line drives to RF w/authority, his wrists must be plus/plus.

I regards to quick games, you may have noticed a 1-0 final in a game won by the Giants over the A’s last night. Webb was the winning pitcher of decision as he earned a CG shutout in a game that was placed into the books in only 1:55. The CG shutout has become almost as rare as a no hitter these days and everyone knows that a shutout will always give a team a better chance to win than will a no hitter…

I like us in close games. I like our chances. That guy Helsley helps too😀

Of our 11 hits, lefties have 2, both singles (Noot / Siani).

Righties have supplied the damage. The block of righties Oli used early in the batting order, has worked.

Looks like all those Bavarian Bismarks finally caught up with LL as his 300 lb. frame seems to have put a bit too much stress on his right tie rod end.

That will be a nice GmSc for Gray.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen a black pair of cleats that it looks strange.

Agreed, this is now close to their best lineup against LHP, with the possible exception of Pages spelling Contreras behind the plate. Pham helps quite a bit.

    The pointless challenge sharked him…

To add insult to injury, Helsley threw 24 pitches, which means he may not be available tomorrow.

Lots of hanging breaking balls, and they’ve been punished.

    1-2 count: HR.

    0-2 count: double.

0-2 count: double (on a FB)

    Just couldn’t finish anyone off.

A loss like that is a great way to send your season into a tailspin.

I’m the old days there was a saying, something like don’t let them beat you on your second best pitch! 3 of the 4 hits in that inning were on breaking balls! Why? Throw the dang fastball!

I started watching the game with one out in the top of the 9th, so I wondered if I was the problem. When I just read through this thread, I knew your comment was the real problem. Unpardonable. Glad you’re taking responsibility!

I was at the game tonight but we left when the game was 1-1. So maybe I was…or wasn’t the problem. Sorry, fellas.

IIRC he had a blown save in SF last year that was due to him relying too much on his breaking ball. He gets a little cute with it at times.

Idk….you can’t look at his split numbers against Lefties and even come to a conclusion it was that. Heading in batters were hitting .566 ops against him righties were a shade over .500 ops.

Hurts also that Goldschmidt and Arenado had 5 hits between them with Pham adding another 2. We apparently didn’t score enough. Lol have we heard that before?
