I hope the Cubs win tonight (Wednesday) in Cincinnati. I don’t want the Cubs to be on a real low coming into this series.

Unless Gray finds his early season form this one is probably in the loss column.

Cubs way out in front of the Reds on Wednesday evening. 13-3 at last check.

Arizona downed the Nationals 5-4 out west earlier today. Washington had the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the 9th.

Padres way out in front of the Doyers. 7-1 in the 5th at San Diego.

I am going to tune in to the Oakland/San Francisco game tonight.

Rats, just curious, but why do you always post tonight’s results on tomorrow’s thread?

The Cubs are also heading into the Cardinals series coming off a big win.

Because I assume, using my Spockian logic, that posters are more likely to check out the next game thread once the previous game is over late at night. I just assume they will move on to the next game thread and not the old one.

And as you can see, the Wednesday game thread is already way down on the front page.

Was the 1 run scored worth staying up for Rat?

Gray needs to get back to painting the black. A strong effort tonight and a win after the two big home victories would really put some momentum behind this club. They would get the feeling that “hey, we might actually be pretty good.”

I watched the first few innings of the Dodgers-Padres last night. That was not the Dodger club we all know and don’t love. No Freddie Freeman, no Mookie Betts, no Max Muncy, and an over-the-hill looking Clayton Kershaw.

Actually I watched the Giants and Rockies from Candlestick Park. It was indeed a one run game. Logan Webb went the distance and the Giants won over Colorado 1-0.

Then I finished out the Rockies and Angels from Anaheim. Colorado won that one 2-1.

A couple of good late night games.

Oh, then I watched a couple of episodes of Dragnet with Sgt. Joe Friday.

The weather looks okay for tonights game at Wrigley. The Doppler Radar doesn’t show any green/yellow/orange stuff in the area all night.

Unfortunately, I am going to call this one 6-2 Cubs with both Suzuki and Swanson going deep in this one. Pham’s honeymoon is over, he’ll go 0-4 tonight. I’ll take a split in this series and be happy. We most likely will lose at least three of the four. This series will most likely end any hope we have at getting in the playoffs.

With two months still remaining in the regular season it seems odd that this trip to Wrigley will be the last four games against the Cubs in ’24.

Goldschmidt back at three. I guess with a righty going Ollie thinks he can get ahold of one.

No Burly – now we will have Shady depressed to go along with the new Dodger fan Mr GameCard.

Yeah 1TD, this schedule where everyone plays everyone makes it so divisional games are not so frequent. I would like to see divisional games more frequent, although they don’t need to be heavily weighted.

It feels like we’ve played the cubs a dozen times since we played Mil last.

Yeah, I don’t understand the absense of logic in the scheduling of the competition. Teams play a total of 52 games against what are presumed to be divisional and geographical rivals leaving 110 games to played against teams that are supposedly not as important in the divisional or geographical sphere. Seems to me like the entire concept and mindset is bass-ackwards.

Hmmm…No Burleson in tonight’s lineup. Although I noticed that in his last 5 games he’s 3 for 19, this benching is obviously due to the constant criticism from his numerous detractors on here…Well, they finally got their way. This could be the precursor to, “The Curse of the Burley”…I tried to tell everyone this would happen!

Gorman sits too. Burlys turn to sit, Noot back in. The way Oli pushed buttons yesterday, looks good.

Uh oh, with the shocking news of no Burleson in tonight’s lineup, I failed to notice that Cardinals hitters will be challenged with facing none other than the great Shogun Chimichanga.

With Pham in the fold, they’re at least trying to mitigate some of their more glaring weaknesses vs. LHP. Makes sense. Granted, several of the names in the lineup haven’t hit well in absolute terms against LHP this year, but they have better long term track records, and more importantly, they’ve hit LHP considerably better than the other options being moved to the bench.

Winn puts a genuine charge into the baseball when he connects. He’s a strong little so and so.
