Change in plans… It will either be the rubber match or the series will have already been lost.

I’ll miss this one. I’ll be at the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant, having my weekly late lunch. Fried chicken, roast beef, fish, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, sweet iced tea, and some cherry cobbler and soft serve vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Then afterwards a 7×50 Cuban Sandwich cigar out on the front porch area. I hope it’s not too hot, supposed to be low 90s around here tomorrow.

Pads FS “Pham crushes lefties and sure enough, got the slam against a LHP. He was forced into everyday service by the Sox.

Second, I believe he finally got the Miracle surgery he needed for his eyes in his last year with us.

Maybe he and Carp will combine to be a good DH

Could today be a third straight ballgame of Fernandez, Roycroft and Leahy? Not likely. It’s nice having the bullpen A-team getting a some well deserved rest before venturing to Wrigley for a big 4 game series. Nice for Fedde too, as he didn’t have to budge an inch all week in the Windy City as he layed in wait for his new team to come to him. McGreevy’s job today….just go 5 innings without giving up more than 3 runs.

Always refreshing seeing Rat’s excitement for his weekly Wednesday visit to The Gasthof, where he hits the buffet line that is literally fit for a king. I’m not quite sure what lures Rat over there every Wednesday more….the delicious food or the hot little waitress that Rat has been going ga-ga over for the past 12 years? I’d give my left pinky finger if we could have a Gasthof restaurant here in America’s Dairyland.
I think my din-din today won’t be nearly as glamorous as Rat’s, as I’m contemplating whipping up some breakfast for din-din tonight. On tap will be 3 medium poached eggs (heavily laden with butter, salt and pepper), over 2 pieces of white toast, well done crisp bacon, big chunks of buttered potatoes, 2 pieces of french toast and a steaming cup of bold Maxwell House coffee.

Thanks you guys reminded me to take my steaks out of the freezer. I take Wednesday off . I buy the steaks at Costco. Usually 4 in a package. I cook 2 and freeze 2. Mrs. KCB doesn’t eat much of anything but broccoli and pizza. Weird. Anyway, I am a big fan of leftovers, so I eat the other steak Friday. I think today it will be hot so I cook the steaks on the grill. Usually I reverse sear them. Here are the basics for reverse searing a steak. Its easy.

Pugs, they usually burn up the innings of guys who are scheduled to be sent down. Libby has a 4digit ops allowed for July, and is a demotion candidate. Maybe a piggyback candidate if todays game goes bad. Roycroft would be another, and of course Leahy has been driving the shuttle, he’s always a candidate.

My DVR is gonna be busy as hell with the Olympics mens AND fem-males basketball getting started this afternoon and track & field soon and of course the Cards.

Anyone else gonna be watching these Summer games?

BTW I love the boxing ever since that Spinks brothers, Ray Leonard and Holifield team dominated that one year (’86?) but I don’t know anything about the team now…do you?

Today’s lineup might come down to do they want Gorman batting vs the lefty or do they want Pham in the outfield.

Pham, Noot and Burly outfield, w/ Donny at 2B?

    Yeah, with Willson DH.

With Pham, Burly will likely stay in the lineup vs LHP. But maybe bat lower at 6. However, Oli sure seems to like Winn 1 and Burleson 2. Now with Pham’s RHB, it will be an interesting lineup vs the lefty.

I’d prefer Burleson at DH and Pham in RF if we are facing a LHP.

I agree on Willson at DH, bling. He hasn’t caught three in a row since returning. Expecting Pages catching today and his best split is vs a LH SP’r (sorry bout that).

Pads that sounds better. Even when Carp gets on base he’s a liability. Now that Yadi’s gone he’s the slowest turtle on the team and by far the worst baserunner I ever saw, liable to kill rallys with his perplexing lack of judgement.

Good to see McGreevey get a start. Hopefully he can keep it winnable. I get this nagging sense we will get blown out today, but I want to be wronger than Wrongy Wrongington.

The notion was floated that Pham is just here to hit lefties from the DH slot and his atrocious fielding will seldom factor because he won’t be starting in the outfield. That lasted one day.

Gives Noot a start off vs a LHP. Sinai’s D stays on the field. Oli trying to optimize his roster. He should.

Wherever you choose your own seat at the ballpark, you can be assured it’ll be a nice and cozy one today. The hot chocolate guy shouldn’t be too busy for this one.

Snow cones are on the shaded concourse anyway, and a better breeze. Good day to walk and talk.
