    Speaking of the Wild Card……

The Nationals had an 8-4 lead on the DBacks heading to the last of the 9th last night in Winslow, Arizona. The DBacks scored five runs and won 9-8. Corbin Carroll a walkoff two run dong.

The NL Wild Card is going to be wild indeed. Not even the mighty Braves are guaranteed a spot. They are clinging on to a tenuous lead of a half game. I didn’t have that scenario on my bingo card.

Well, the deadline has come and gone. Carlson is apparently still a Redbird.

    Right?

To Tampa for Shawn Armstrong. A 33 year old middlin’ reliever. Didn’t get much here.

Then again, didn’t give up much either.

Should be an entertaining pitching matchup featuring Mad Max and the Bavarian Bismark Beast. Neither one of these guys are overly docile.

Two guys whose best years are in the rear view mirror, but Scherzer especially seems like a guy who can still put a good game together.

Lynn was outpitched in the game I saw live last week by the phenom Skenes, but hung in there and got some outs when he needed them.

Yeah, they’ve both got quite a few klicks on the clock, but I don’t expect either one of them to be intimidated by anyone telling them they’re too old and should stand down…Neither one of them strike me as being quitters.

Is it common knowledge Mad Max has 2 different color eyes?

He has 3 of them. Uh oh…Lynn touched up for game tying tater.

Looks like about 12K in the seats. I’d have thought the return of Pham would have attracted another 4 or 5 hundred.

6 LHB in the lineup, lol

    Does that tie the record?

Remember when we had only Carp and Wong as lefties?
Then we let Wong walk away!

Haha…LL likes to step down off the mound and stroll back to the dugout with that mitt resting on top of his melon. So far, he’s outworked his HOF bound counterpart.

LL is a character. We see less and less of that in the game. Shame, really.

I agree, KCB. Both of these SP’ers bring a little something extra to the spectacle. It’s called “The Show” for a reason. I always felt that I got my money’s worth at the ballpark whenever Andujar took a turn or Hrabosky made an appearance.

Winn hits behind the runner naturally.
