I have no problem with the HR he allowed to Carroll, Pugs. He’s protecting a 2 run lead and immediately starts off the first hitter with 3 straight balls before eventually handing over the leadoff BB. That’ll make me say really bad words every time.
July 17, 2026 at 11:15 pm #313388JJ lines a single to center, hit so hard that Church had to slam on the brakes at 3rd. Bases juiced with nary and out and Herrera at the dish looking to cream one.
July 17, 2026 at 11:19 pm #313390Well said, TD. A Herrera sac fly will get Church home safely with the go-ahead tally……and Sewald sent to the showers……and lookie here…..Gassy is now positioned to earn himself his first ML “W”. First things first though as we need some additional insurance.

July 17, 2026 at 11:24 pm #313392When you have the bases loaded and no outs, if you don’t score at least 2 runs then you get that empty feeling in your gut……which is what I’m feeling right now. We seized the lead, but also left the door ajar for an Arizona comeback.
July 17, 2026 at 11:25 pm #313393Latch up the 5 point harness because here comes the Bogsider from Derry to protect a skinny 1 run lead.
July 17, 2026 at 11:27 pm #313395He’s got a real good move to 1B for a RH’ed pitcher…Deader that yesterday at 1B!
July 17, 2026 at 11:28 pm #313396Arenado opens their 9th with a walk and then the pinch runner(Vargas) abruptly gets picked off…..how sweet is that!
July 17, 2026 at 11:32 pm #313397O’Brien with the SAVE……5-4 your merry final. We pick up a full game on the cubbies who got pelted at home by the Twinkies today 5-2.
July 17, 2026 at 11:32 pm #313398Looked like ball three for the W!
July 17, 2026 at 11:35 pm #313400Winn may have had the game of his career as he carries the team with both his bat and mitt.
July 17, 2026 at 11:35 pm #313401That last strike three was clearly a ball!
And Arizona had a challenge left.
What was Marte thinking? Or rather not thinking???
July 17, 2026 at 11:43 pm #313404Yeah, I don’t understand why he didn’t have them take a look at it. You could see it was up and out of the zone before even looking at a replay. I’ll take it though.
July 18, 2026 at 1:38 pm #313444Gassy is now positioned to earn himself his first ML “W”.
He did end up getting it. Wins are a funny stat aren’t they? Congratulations, you blew the lead, you deserve the win not the guy who pitched an excellent game before you blew it.
