Scratch this one. No word on plans for the make-up.
June 25, 2026 at 7:48 pm #311032I could see it coming. My little dog and I were out for a walk and we got sprinkled on. It was touch and go but we made it home injury free.

June 25, 2026 at 8:43 pm #311035The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that tonight’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Busch Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The two teams will make up today’s postponed game on Thursday, July 23, at Busch Stadium at 4:15 PM CT.

Its a little fluffy white lap dog, I don’t know what kind. My wife got it after our miniature dachshund passed away a few years ago. We had that dog a long time.
June 25, 2026 at 9:27 pm #311041It’s odd that they would schedule that game on an off day almost a month from now. I’m surprised they didn’t simply deep six it and make up the game only if needed to determine an important slot in the standings at season’s end. Many may well recall in ’06 when the Cardinals came real close to having to travel to SF to make up a previously ppd game to determine who qualified for that year’s post-season. The Astros lost to the Braves in ATL in their final regular season game, so the Cardinals weren’t required to board the jet for the west coast as they backed into playoffs after they lost game #161 at home to the Brewers. I was amongst the home crowd for that final regular season game and was feeling more than a little uneasy when learning that TLR was holding back Chris Carpenter and handing the baseball to the rookie Reyes in case the Redbirds were required to travel to SF to play #162 if needed to determine the final NLC standings. I was really watching the board closely…The rest, as they like to say, is history.

June 25, 2026 at 10:38 pm #311048The rain washes the Cardinals out of second place in the NLC as they relinquish control of that spot in the standings to the Cubbies who completed a 3 game broom job of the Mets today with a 4-3 final in NY. Over in the AL 3 teams are at 1.5 games behind the Mariners in the ALW with the Astros technically with possession of 2nd place in that division by virtue of a slim 1% pt. lead over the A’s and Rangers. I still think Houston will win that division.
Edit…I forgot to mention that the Phillies have hoisted themselves to within 4 games off the pace behind the Braves with their 3rd consecutive W in the form of a 10-5 W over the Expos in DC. I think the Phillies have the best team in the NLE and will eventually overtake the Braves to win that division.

June 26, 2026 at 10:36 am #311075The Cubs actually swept the Mets in 4 games. It pains me to see them surging while we start to collapse but I guess it was inevitable. Oh well we will see how the Cubs fare in Milwaukee this weekend. I will be pulling for the Crew.
June 26, 2026 at 10:52 am #311077The Mets fired their manager. The Cubs sweep was the last straw.
