Nice CS by Pages. Is it established that Herrera still can’t throw anyone out, or is that still up in the air?

I don’t think there’s any question as to whether the Cardinals enjoy a defensive advantage with Pages situated behind HP, so it would be real nice to see him amp things up just a little when he stands in the box.

Cardinals get their best chance of the game to score on Rodriguez. Need something good from the Nootz.

Ran it full. Do you start them with 1 out?

I’m real surprised Rodriguez went to the off speed on the BB to the Nootz.

AZ needs a 1 out baserunner and Nado rips at the 3-0 to produce a weak bouncing ball to 3B. He routinely did things like that while he was here.

I believe that was Leahy’s best start. Aside from the first pitch of the game, he had great stuff all night.

Burleson 0 for his last 864 verses left handed pitchers.

Rodriguez finally out of the game after getting the first 2 in the 7th. Still 0-0.

I like this decision. I’ve seen plenty enough of Rodriguez.

Rodriguez exits and Morillo promptly BB’s the first batter he faces and then follows with a WP to place the baserunner into scoring position…Karma?

I looked him up and he only has about 1700 career AB’s. At first I thought to myself, “get this bum Burleson out of here”…Haha!

I may have stretched it just a bit on Burleson.

Manny Motter once went 0 for 950 and he was a fan favorite!

You almost knew that was going to happen if he gave in and threw him the 3-2 heat.

Svanson with 9000 pitches this inning. Ollie comes out to pick up his arm after he secured only 1 out. Not his fault Walker lost a routine fly ball in the lights. However, Svanson could not locate pitches. That was a problem.

The only thing Svanson needs to locate is a bus ticket back to Memphis

This top of the inning is taking forever. Our pitchers refuse to throw consistent strikes and Arizona has done a good job fouling off pitches when they do.

Just announced that was our 54th pitch of the inning. And number 55 leads to a walk to load the bases. Graceffo, throw f’n strikes.

And a wild pitch makes it 4-0.

Ok. Passed ball and not a wild pitch. Still a ball.

Absolutely pitiful how the bullpen is! Can’t throw strikes! Remind me again why Crooks is playing? This guy is under 200! Send Crooks down and bring up Joshua Baez. Velazquez isn’t producing much either, another candidate to send down or trade.
