RHP Andre Pallante (7-4, 3.88) vs. RHP Michael King (4-5, 3.46)
Cards.TV // KMOX // WIJRJune 16, 2026 at 12:20 pm #310069According to the Doppler Radar a band of showers was just in the St. Louis area but is moving out now. It looks like it could hit us here in SW Indiana in the next couple of hours. And also possibly impact the Mets and Reds game tonight from Crosley Field. However, the rest of the day looks all clear in the greater metro St. Louis area.
And din-din today will be a Subway Chicken Teriyaki sandwich, a few baked beans, some Bar-B-Q chips, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream.

June 16, 2026 at 1:01 pm #310073Here’s hoping we can do another shutout tonight, or perhaps produce a more comfortable margin than three runs.
Din-din: Calves liver smothered in onions, ratatouille and little potato noisettes (don’t know what to call them in English). Beverage, iced tea. Desert, Haagen-Dazs vanilla splashed with chocolate syrup.
Rah Cardinals!
June 16, 2026 at 1:06 pm #310074potato noisettes (don’t know what to call them in English).
Tater tots.
June 16, 2026 at 1:31 pm #310075Thanks Bling, but I always thought tater tots were home runs that just barely make it to the wall.
June 16, 2026 at 1:50 pm #310076Humor aside and on a more serious note, with that “band of showers” making a beeline straight from St. Louis towards Rat’s place in SW Indiana, let us all urge Rat and Whitey HerDog to baton down the hatches and take immediate cover in the basement…….don’t forget to take a Via Palma Grande El Presidente 7×50 cigar and a large bone for the pooch…..you guys could be down there for awhile, Rat.
June 16, 2026 at 2:00 pm #310077The skies are starting to get dark here in SW Indiana.
And Pugs, that’s a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar.
But you are close..:)
And to quote CIF:
Rah Cardinals!

It’ll be a vegetarian spaghetti meal here at the Bike Mike place, with garlic bread and a big tossed salad. Dessert is vanilla pudding that your’s truly threw together today, from a box not from scratch. I added sliced bananas and vanilla wafers, and we have the option of topping it with Cool Whip.
Water to quench the thirst. Hopefully the Cards keep the Pads thirsty for runs. Hard to believe we are this far along in the season and Machado is still well under the Mendoza line. Still their record is not much different than ours, so if he can find the old groove maybe they make a run at the boys in blue.
June 16, 2026 at 3:29 pm #310082“And also possibly impact the Mets and Reds game tonight from Crosley Field.”
I thought the Reds had moved to Riverfront Stadium. Glad they are in Crosley still with that crazy hill in the outfield and real grass. I tell ya, that Roy McMillan is not much of a hitter but he can really pick it at short! 😀
June 16, 2026 at 6:50 pm #310087Whenever I see Mets/Reds, I think of the Harrelson/Rose lovefest during the ’73 NLCS. Those two held such genuine adoration for one another that not a single player was ejected for all of the flagrant canoodling that took place on the field of play on that fine October afternoon…
June 16, 2026 at 6:56 pm #310088Looks like filling up the strikezone is pretty good strategy against this Padres lineup.
June 16, 2026 at 7:06 pm #310089Machado’s hitting .177 and he’s collected almost 300 PA’s. If he keeps up this torrid pace, he’ll eclipse the great Manny Motter…
June 16, 2026 at 7:25 pm #310090Jordan and Church providing more offense than we got from Gorman and Scott. Not many ABs yet from The Blazer but he is at least getting a few knocks.
June 16, 2026 at 7:35 pm #310091Yeah, Bikemike, you almost had to expect it would be a bit better and it’s turned out to be a lot better. For now anyway.
June 16, 2026 at 7:38 pm #310092Like 1TD with the Reds-Mets Buddy Harrelson Pete Rose memory, whenever I see a pitcher wear #53 I think of Don Drysdale. Man, there was a pitcher. Intimidating, a workhorse. Could hit a little too. Basically a lot like Gibson, only bigger.
June 16, 2026 at 7:43 pm #310093King does that kind of funny little bend down thing before he sets. Seems like that would wear you out quicker after throwing 100 pitches.
June 16, 2026 at 7:45 pm #310094Pallante perfect through 3. Maybe tonight’s the night we finally get our first perfecto since……? Maybe Dizzy Dean days?
June 16, 2026 at 7:51 pm #310095Perfect through four now. Not sure the Cards have ever had a perfecto.
June 16, 2026 at 7:55 pm #310096…ah. King only does that bend down thing with runners on.
June 16, 2026 at 7:59 pm #310099Taking a gander at the early Tuesday evening scoreboard:
The Reds lead the Mets 5-1 in the 5th at Crosley Field.
The Cubs lead the Rockies 2-0 in the 2nd at Wrigley Field.
The Indians lead the Brewers 1-0 in the 4th at Miller Park.
Rays and Doyers coming up later tonight from Doyer Stadium.
My late night snack is going to be some Bar-B-Q chicken legs. Me and Whitey Herdog are looking forward to that.

June 16, 2026 at 8:04 pm #310100I recall that it seemed as though every time Gibson took a turn vs. the Dodgers it was headlined with Gibson/Drysdale up on the pitching marquee. If it was the Giants he got either Marichal or Perry, the Cubs he’d draw to Jenkins, Braves/Niekro, Pirates/Veale, Mets/Seaver and so on. I’m thoroughly convinced that it’s the primary reason that he was the losing pitcher of decision 9 times after hanging that 1.12 ERA up on the board.
June 16, 2026 at 8:04 pm #310101Oh man, tough way to lose the perfecto. We are challenging but I think he was safe.
Man Winn is really something. Great shortstop!
June 16, 2026 at 8:06 pm #310103Surprisingly no perfectos for the Cardinals, Bikemike.
June 16, 2026 at 8:15 pm #310104Man, I don’t recall anyone in recent memory that got plunked as much as Herrera.
Yeah 1TD, seemed like Gibby never faced guys like Bill Stoneman.
