Wacha has had a respectable career. A dependable #4 guy most of his career. Once he turned 30 though he picked it up and is a good #3 and makes a respectable #2 for a team. Compared to most guys drafted a few picks after him, he has been a massive success with Stroman a solid one as well but his career has tailed off. Good pick by the Cards 14 years ago

JW just keeps ripping the baseball. He now leads the team in virtually every offensive category. What’s really encouraging is that he’s cooled off for a couple of small segments this season, but then has been able to quickly dial it back up. Whoa…Another tater into David Freese land off the bat of Pages to give the Redbirds a 3-2 lead! If Ron Washington’s watching, I’m guessing that he ain’t enjoying this game…

You can draw some parallels in the careers of Chris Carpenter and Michael Wacha regarding that they both scuffled with numerous shoulder troubles and neither one of them didn’t really hit stride and deliver their best work until about aged 30. And ohh…they both once dressed out in the nicest looking home uniform in the Big Leagues before taking a turn on the pitching mound…

Is Church a pitcher? Why did he get the bunt sign with no outs and Winn standing on 2B? And he even squared around on the 0-2…I don’t understand how the current game of baseball is played sometimes.

I think having Church bunt with Pages up next is a poor play.

Poor? It’s insane, KCB! I don’t recognize this game sometimes.

Whoever’s standing on the top step of the Cardinal dugout just set fire to a perfectly good lead-off double…

I’m entirely aware that the Cardinals haven’t been able to generate much production from the 7, 8 and 9 slots, but you can’t hardly play the game as if you have 3 pitchers penciled in at the bottom of the order. If you do, you’re almost conceding that you’re just not good enough.

Nice inning of work from Romero. Let’s get a few runs and place this one in the W column.

Fermin looks good out there. Don’t know if he’ll hit much, but he looks good in the field wherever he is.

Ten pitches from the Bogsider to retire the Royals in the 9th. I guess you send him out to begin the 10th if the game extends to extras?

I’m surprised Church hasn’t squared around to lead-off the 9th…

Let’s hope the Cardinals can at least push this run across from 2B to tie it up. They’ve now had a baserunner situated at 2B with no outs for 3 consecutive innings.

And there it is. Burleson delivers to tie it up. Let’s walk this thing off.

That was the old Walker whiffing on the fader.

Well cardinals getting it dpne though i dont understand the royals pitching strategy to the 2 left handers. Pitched walker great but two lower inside pitches to left handers which are obvious mistakes gives us a run with chances to win here

Well we could only tie it but we r still in drivers seat here.

Very unclutch ABs by Walker and Winn.

That’s what I thought too, Bling, but in his defence Erceg jumped way out in front and then made a pitch on the 0-2.

Yeah, I thought the Winn AB was worse than JW’s.

No matter the outcome, it’s been a good baseball game.

This royals team is pretty weak outside of witt jr,the cardinals should have already won this game. Wacha is solid pitching wise but their relievers havent impressed me. I think we win here.
