I absolutely adore Michael McGreevy getting the upper hand in this one and propelling his team to victory. Let’s call this one 6-2 Birds, with Walker getting back into the groove with a couple ringing extra base hits.

And what’s for din-din one may ask? It’ll be 2 all beef dogs smothered in raw onions and yellow mustard, heavy egg, mayo & onion potato salad, baked beans drenched in apple cider vinegar and some Baskin Robbins chocolate peanut butter ice cream coated in white milk for dessert.

We’re going simple American again today for din-din – pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn and cornbread well lathered with butter. Dessert will be a dish of Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream liberally sprinkled with fresh strawberries.
Still recovering from yesterday’s great game-turned 9th inning heartbreaker and hoping that offensive Redbird flame is still burning.
    Rah Cardinals!

Din-din today here in SW Indiana will be a ribeye steak in the air fryer, some jumbo crinkle cut french fries, and an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. Then a couple of bowls of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream.

All of this will coincide with first pitch from Crosley Field as the Tigers clash with the Reds. Then it will be time to switch over to Sportsmans Park for the Mariners and Cards game. Whitey Herdog will be on the couch with me for all of this. Along with a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar.

Which reminds me, I am about out so I need to order some more.

I have a bag of charcoal and a couple t-bones. Also corn on the cob and a cobb salad. That won’t be until after the game, though. To tide me over I have homemade devilled ham and crackers.

I’ve wiped out everything that requires no effort to make. Except some microwave wild rice and a potpie. So there it is. With some Arnie Palmer diet half and half.

Church hits his 5th homerun to give the Cards a 2-1 lead.
Church is looking really good lately.

And JoJo falls apart after the overturn. 3-2

He gets into ruts like this during the season. Juat how he is at times.

This pen is so infuriating to watch. I guess the whole pitching staff is outside of McGreevy, May, and O’Brien. What a waste of a good start.

And due up to lead off is Ramon whiffle ball bat Urias and Victor paper bat Scott. Scott’s OPS is lower than many guys SLG now and is sinking faster than an anchor

I’ve watched the game with a certain degree of dis-interest. You need to score more than 2 usually

2 won’t generally cut it so it is on the offense as well. The Mariners have a really good pitching staff and you can’t let your own blow leads against a team with staff that good

And there’s the sweep for Seattle.

    On to the next.

Disappointing to not get at least one. Pen was a disaster this weekend other than the 2 of the 3 stooges.

Well that’s tough – you get swept by a total of four runs. Had they put that 9 spot up in either of the other two games at least you would have one win.

Tough series coming up against a good Pittsburgh club.

No big bench bats to send up for Urias and Scott.

Paid attendance fri was 31k, sat was 27k.

I think we are now in last place.

I think we better get used to this folks.

    Losing, that is.

Even after a good start I told someone they would be under .500 by mid-May.

It’s going to be sooner than that I’m afraid.

We had one hit after the 3rd inning. Church’s homer on the 6th and that was it.

At least were living up to everyone’s expectations now. Lol
