Cards.TV // KMOXApril 22, 2026 at 7:16 am #305594An 11 AM start time? Wow that is an early one
April 22, 2026 at 8:15 am #30559712:10 in Miami.
I wonder if Junk’s junk is any good?
April 22, 2026 at 10:00 am #305599Lineups? Anyone?
April 22, 2026 at 10:29 am #305600He’s a junk ball pitcher.
April 22, 2026 at 10:30 am #305602J Wetherholt (L) 2B
I Herrera (R) DH
N Gorman (L) 3B
R Urías (R) 1B
J Fermín (R) LF
N Church (L) RF
T Saggese (R) SS
P Pagés (R) C
V Scott II (L) CFApril 22, 2026 at 10:58 am #305603It sure would be nice if the Cardinals had a guy in AAA that is already on the 40 Man roster who has in OBP over .500 to come play LF vs Chuch/Scott/Fermin…..
Just a thought
April 22, 2026 at 11:07 am #305605Running out the discount let’s lose this game lineup
April 22, 2026 at 11:17 am #305607Could they have just had the DSL lineup for today vs this one?
Church, Scott, Pages and Fermin are not…..
April 22, 2026 at 11:23 am #305608Well, we’re not going to scare them to death, but you never know.
April 22, 2026 at 11:59 am #305609A bases loaded walk and now it’s a 2-0 Marlins lead after three innings.
Time to head to the Gasthof for my late Wednesday afternoon din-din. Fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, sweet iced tea, cherry cobbler, and soft serve vanilla ice cream. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar out on the bench in the front porch area.

April 22, 2026 at 12:11 pm #305610Two of their three runs are guys who walked.

stlcard25ParticipantLeahy isn’t good as a starter, but he probably wishes this wasn’t his game to pitch with the lineup that Marmol put out. Ouch.
April 22, 2026 at 12:46 pm #305615Ooh, the early start caught me by surprise. Hope the four-run deficit wasn’t my fault.

ParticipantWell not too many hits today. I guess marmol wanted to take some of the energy out of our bats.
April 22, 2026 at 1:22 pm #305617I can hear Ollie after the game “that CIF guy let us down , I’ll tell you that”.
April 22, 2026 at 1:26 pm #305618This was a crappy getaway day lineup by Marmol. It would have saved everyone’s time to just forfeit the game and get on the plane back to STL.
At least O’Brien gets the day off.
April 22, 2026 at 1:37 pm #305619I’m going to agree with other posters that this lineup doesn’t make sense. Why would you need to give players a day off before an off day. These are elite athletes in the prime of their youth. I just can’t believe they would not be able to perform playing almost everyday. At least you could preplan and stagger the off days for your starters.
Herrera prevented the shutout but didn’t get to see it due to technicals issues with the telecast.
April 22, 2026 at 1:42 pm #305620Osueagec I agree. I don’t understand why they ran out the B team lineup when they have a day off tomorrow. I can understand giving some time off during the 17 game stretch, but why when you have a day off rest 3 starters who have been carrying the offense and leave all the weak bats in

ParticipantForgot bout the early time. Looks like I missed the 4 hits with one in the 9th for our only score. 12 hits given up and our 4 tells me about this one. Lot of guys need to be looking toward improving. Gut check game.
April 22, 2026 at 1:44 pm #305622I agree with the above. These guys are professional athletes in their prime not a bunch of outta shape weenies. It’s only April for goodness sake.
April 22, 2026 at 1:44 pm #305623Another poor start by Leahy. At least it hopefully makes the decision to let Dobbins take his spot at some point easier
April 22, 2026 at 2:50 pm #305625If the intention is to prevent your guys from retaining their focus and competitve edge, sit them down and give them a rest immediately following a nice W…
April 22, 2026 at 3:12 pm #305626I know it seems crazy and that every bone in our competitive body tells us that winning is of utmost importance. Why else are we playing? But I do want to remind everyone that winning is not the priority this season. It’s great if it happens. But it is not the priority.
I’m like most of you and I think why can’t a professional athlete in his prime not play a 2 hour ballgame every day? It’s beyond ridiculous. But then I remember that they also have pregame warmups and now it’s 3 1/2 hours. And that they have an hour of video. And 30 minutes of strategy discussion. And weight training for the day. And cardio training. And that they are doing most all of that 7 days a week. Maybe they can wear out and have it affect their performance? And maybe 2 days off is truly better for the mind and body overall? I don’t really know because I’ve never been a professional athlete. I’m guessing most of you haven’t either! But if all of that is true and they do wear out, then is it better to nearly forfeit one game and rest your best players all at once to have them all full strength together for the next full run or to piecemeal their rest and play several games a little below full strength? I don’t know. But I can understand why they might choose the former. Just food for thought.
April 22, 2026 at 3:24 pm #305627The main gripe I have on the lineup is that JJ didn’t sit and Pages play 2nd. Hey the bullpen went through primarily untouched. Miracles can happen.
Leahy is on borrowed time in the rotation. Clearly just not working.
