My dad grew up in Milwaukee and was a Brewers fan. Cardinals / Brewers series were always extra fun for the father son back and forth banter. My dad passed yesterday morning suddenly. He had been excited about the Brewers season and was happy to see them break the team win record last year and again this year and hoping to see them hit 100 wins. I’m going to be rooting for the Brewers and hope they win the World Series this year for him.
I wonder if Pugs will be going to any of these games at Miller Park?
If he does I bet he will be right behind home plate next to Front Row Amy!
And today is the last CCFF of the 2026 season.

So sorry to learn about you having to say so long to your dad, Albert. I’ve always thought that baseball is one of the countless things in this world that serves to bring fathers and sons so close to one another. Take good care and I’m sure you’ll continue to cherish all those memories, my friend.
When the Cards are in town, I generally go to 2 of the games at Milwaukee County Stadium, Rat. I don’t have quite the primo seats that Amy has, but mine aren’t bad, being 11 rows up from the visitors dugout. Not sure if I’ll be in attendance this weekend, as I’ll be announcing a high school football game tomorrow (Friday) night and then have a wedding to attend on Saturday afternoon.
My thoughts are with you during this most difficult time, Albert. Judging by what we know of your writings here, undoubtedly your father was a very special person.
I’m truly sorry for your loss Albert. Likewise, my father grew up in Wisconsin as a Brewers fan so I can relate.
Albert, so sorry for your loss. Life throws us situations none of us want to deal with, but in this one, you can honor him often by doing something he would have liked. We’ll all be thinking of you here.
ATM, I echo the kind thoughts of everyone on this site as you mourn the loss of your dad. Memories of your time together involving baseball will help ease the hurt and give you comfort. God bless your family as you grieve this loss.
My condolences also ATM. You will have those great memories to carry with you. My dad has been gone for many years but I still have a photo of him as a young guy with the rattiest most tattered glove you could imagine.

And I didn’t realize that Arizona still has something to play for tonight in San Diego. They are actually still alive in the wild card.
ATM, my condolences to you on losing your dad. Like many my dad and I bonded on sports a lot, and he’s the reason I am a Cardinal fan.

McGreevy and the Cardinals down l-0 after the first inning. It took McGreevy a few pitches to warm up. But it looks like he’s on his game now.
The Cubs are reeling.
They lost a DH today to the Red Sox at Fenway. 4-3 and 2-0.
I guess they played a DH today because of the Nor’Easter about to hit the New England area.
Looks like they will be on the road for the wild card series.
