Saggese with 2 huge games in a row. Looking good offensively and defensively. Also a couple key hits from Baez (that weren’t home runs) and another big set of bullpen innings from Graceffo made this one possible. Great job by Stanek, Gastellum, and O’Brien late as well.

Guys playing for a job vs guys with guaranteed contracts? Whatever the explanation, it is great. Bernal has started off good and Baez pulled his BA up over .200. The UTs and extra guys are taking advantage of the opportunity and playing like they want a job. Its too bad about Gorman, but he’s done.

8 pitchers for 10 innings, wow. A string of good performances.

Nice to get the win. Despite the front office actively trying to lose, they are managing to keep their heads above water.

Every time I prepare to give up on these guys, they pop back up to .500 again. I know they have no realistic hope of winning anything but it’s fun to see that ol’ bobber break to the surface now and again. Ya gotta love ’em.

Wow, a great win. I was watching US Open tennis on ESPN and saw a highlight of Freeman’s HR and heard our Redbirds were hitless in the 5th. Fell asleep soon thereafter, and never gave the game another thought. Now I see a day later the boys won it. Good on ’em!
