It should not be lost on us that when Gassy makes an appearance, good things happen. Even if he allows 2 run homers, the baseball Gods will still bestow victories upon us…….watch what happens here.

I am tired of Bregman, Happ and PCA.

If they trot Thornton out there again in the 10th then we have a chance…….even if we’re down 3 or 4. As it sits now, the cubbies have plated 2 here in the 10th on a couple doubles down the line in right…..2 outs with one out. Hold them here and we’re only one swing away from tying it up.

This Cardinal pitcher rarely allows a single.

Come on gents, just score 3 in the 10th like last night and we once again make a winner out of Gassy. 3-0 sure would look dandy on Gassy’s ML resume.

Shoot! It’s not Thornton, but Webb pitching the 10th. Our odds of victory just went from 93% had it been Thornton, to 32% with Webb.

O’Brien isn’t the most valuable player on the team, but if he departs, it may leave the biggest hole they could create. When they were winning with greater frequency, 7-8-9 with Soriano and Jo Jo ahead of him was working.

Don’t you wish Crooks wasn’t a catcher, so we could say “Crooks really robbed him” every now and then?

Gassy saddled with his first ML loss. Most likely it probably won’t be his last. On to Canada to take on the Jays.

Jnevel, i never said jj was ok, i said he did good, maybe even great for a rookie. But keep on with that. But if you 254 is great hitting, good for you. I just have higher standards thats all.

Let’s be honest here. We were lucky to get one game out of this.

Gassy’s ERA is up to 6.30. That is less than half a point below Motter’s career ERA of 6.75.

“PCA missed that Soriano high heat by a good foot. Yes I saw PCA’s 10th inning dinger last night, but there certainly are signs that he’s heading for a cooling off period. Nobody in this league has hot streaks as sizzling as PCA…..but no player has frigid streaks on par with him either.”
