Well, I was hoping that maybe the Cardinals would return after the break and create the impression that they planned on being relevant for the remainder of the ’25 season. Don’t laugh…I really was.

They looked like a tired team into the break.

    FU Pallante!

Can’t pitch what you don’t have McGreevy is in AAA

Right now with 3 bad options in the rotation and Matz not being stretched out you basically pick your poison with this rotation.

It’s looking bleak. Half tempted to see if we can get any takers for Pallante and keep Matz when the deadline comes. Been frustrating to watch and follow him pitch the whole year after the decent run as a starter he had in 24. I guess the death ball hasn’t been working this year. Lol

At the season’s start I had guessed that the rotation would be a veritable catastrophe and, at one point, it looked like they were going to prove me to be dead wrong. For a substantial stretch in May they looked really good, but right now it’s obvious that at least 3 members of this rotation are entirely spent. If it keeps up or gets progressively worse, the carnage may be difficult to watch.

    They can’t hit.

The reason being is they don’t have any hitters.

No runs in a hitters park like Arizona.

    Pitiful…….

UPDATE: Check that. They did get three in the 9th when it was way too late.

Looks like it was a perfect game to sleep through nine time zones away, which I did. It’s also a perfect game to not bother watching on MLB TV replay today, which I won’t. Abandon all hope, ye Cardinal fans who enter here and seek what occasional crumbs of joy the second half may bring.
