8:40 p.m.
RHP Andre Pallante (5-5, 4.49) vs. TBA
FanDuel // KMOV // Matrix Midwest // KMOXJuly 17, 2025 at 8:22 pm #287569It’ll be nice to get underway again and see if this team has the ability to remain relevant for the final two months of the season. Hopefully the 4 days of R&R will have the kids well rested and not feeling the ill effects from any prior scuffs or scrapes. In any case, it’s good to be able look forward to some everyday baseball action.
July 18, 2025 at 11:32 am #287586Yep, good to get back to some game action. I will be attending next Wednesday’s game out here with a couple of SABR buddies.
Pallante seems a curious one to start tonight. He is not real good and I would think we would go with Libby.
And unfortunately with him going tonight, he is probably lined up to start next Wednesday out here. I was hoping to see Libby first hand.
July 18, 2025 at 11:53 am #287588Brandon Pfaadt is starting for the snakes.
Right now no one knows what to expect from our staff especially with Mikolas and Fedde. They should be well rested especially Fedde.
July 18, 2025 at 4:48 pm #287598This game seems like it starts pretty late. Is the start time in AZ 7:40?
July 18, 2025 at 4:57 pm #287599That is correct. Like the late ones.
July 18, 2025 at 5:33 pm #287601No, the start time is 6:40 local time. Arizona is “Pacific” time during Daylight Saving times, and Mountain Time during Standard Times. They don’t switch like most states.
I recall years ago driving on a road trip and listening to a Cardinal game on KMOX. After the game ended I kept the radio on KMOX and had Jim White’s “At Your Service” show on, as his show was always entertaining.
He was talking about the time changes and said a lady called in from Arizona who said she was glad they were not going to Daylight Saving time, as she feared the extra hour of sunlight would burn her lawn. 🤣
July 18, 2025 at 6:24 pm #287603Well that makes sense. I couldn’t recall if the games in AZ had the same time difference as the games played in COL. Wasn’t part of AZ once on mountain time?
July 18, 2025 at 7:03 pm #287606No Marte this weekend. Guess he was shook up after his house got burglarized during the ASB.
July 18, 2025 at 7:25 pm #287607July 18, 2025 at 8:00 pm #287608Every time I see an incident in which one of these players become a victim of a crime, I think of what happened to former Cardinal Aaron Miles when he was a member of the Astro’s minor league system. He was taken hostage during an armed robbery at the FL hotel in which Aaron and his teammates were staying during spring training of 2000. Scary story that involved a gunfight in which the hostage taker was shot by local police. Nobody’s immune, so it’s always a good idea to do your best to keep a keen sense of your surroundings. I know I sure do.
July 18, 2025 at 8:33 pm #287609That’s right 1TD – I forgot about that story that Aaron Miles went through.
Yeah, need to always be aware of your surroundings. Whenever I am in what seems like kind of a scary situation, I always stand up real straight and walk with a purpose, so at least it appears like I would be someone you probably want to leave alone. Fortunately I am rarely in those situations anymore. In our younger days where many of us would go to bars more often and be out late, it lent itself more to potentially compromising circumstances. These days the lovely Lady Bike and I are lucky to be able to stay up past 8pm. I often miss the last half of the game and if we win, I watch the condensed version the next morning while working out or having breakfast. If we lose I grumble a few non printable words and watch “Rats” type show like Columbo or Barnaby Jones. 😀
July 18, 2025 at 8:43 pm #287610Yeah, Bikemike, I just do my best not to place myself anywhere near anything that could potentially pose a risk. At one time I always felt that I had the ability to move quicker that most anyone, but the days of having a good enough set of wheels to outrun trouble are long gone…I have a hard time outrunning my baby granddaughter…Haha!
July 18, 2025 at 8:54 pm #287611Walker wasn’t in the original lineup. I see that changed. No Gorman.
July 18, 2025 at 8:59 pm #287612I’ll be darned, KCB. No one posted a lineup, so I wasn’t aware of that.

July 18, 2025 at 9:04 pm #287614I’m still trying to climb up off the floor after that 1st inning sac-bunt from Burleson…Who’s running this team?
July 18, 2025 at 9:13 pm #287615Gorman sore back.
July 18, 2025 at 9:16 pm #287616
jj-cf-stlParticipantARI lefty bats getting it done.
July 18, 2025 at 9:25 pm #287617Why is Pallante starting the game after the All Star break? If they were serious about contending they would have pitched Gray. He should be good to go on normal rest after pitching Sunday. Then pitch Libby, McGreevy, Pallante, Mikolas and let Fedde ride the pine or trade for a grilled cheese.
July 18, 2025 at 9:34 pm #287618
jj-cf-stlParticipantRooney was saying Pallante didn’t have a whiff on any swing his last start. K’s kill many of our rallies. Pallante could use some k help with his base runners. So he k’s the next two while I type.
July 18, 2025 at 9:37 pm #287619I’m taking 4 grandkids to 6 flags tomorrow. That should be fun. This isn’t. So im going to bed. I will leave on an up note. Wetherholt was 4/5 today. 2 dbls. 500 ba 1.53 ops at Memphis. Clear Arenado out of here and get on with the future in ’26.
July 18, 2025 at 9:47 pm #287620Yeah, KCB, that should be a lot of fun with 4 grandkids at the amusement park…I’m betting you’ll sleep real good tomorrow night…Haha!
July 18, 2025 at 9:54 pm #287621#79 in my profile picture is going. Security won’t be a problem. Another is a marine.
July 18, 2025 at 10:12 pm #287622Haha!…I only have 1 grandchild, KCB and she’s only 2 and a half years old. I take her to the park “pwaygwownd” near our house all the time which is not unlike a marine boot camp obstacle course, so after spending more than a couple of hours with her I’m always entirely out of steam. That’s okay though, because every time she says, “paw-paw” my heart melts…Haha!
