Cardinals’ Brad Thompson will work as the color analyst with Cleveland’s Tom Hamilton, winner of the 2025 Ford C. Frick award and will be honored in Cooperstown at the Baseball Hall of Fame July 25-28. Cleveland’s Andre Knott will work as the field reporter.

Following today’s game, the Cardinals will bus to Pittsburgh, just two hours away, to begin a three-game series on Monday at PNC Park.

I did the reverse last year, seeing us play in Pittsburgh on a Tuesday night last year, then made the two hour drive to Cleveland the next day and saw the Guardians play Detroit. In that Cardinal-Pirate game, Paul Skenes pitched but we won 2-1.

We talked a little about the name change from Indians to Guardians. Like a lot of fans I grew up with the Indians and always thought it was a great nickname. I did some research last evening on the name change and the reasons behind it and all. The organization was in kind of a bind, but they handled it really well and after reading several opinion pieces and seeing the comments, I agree that the change was the right thing to do.

It’s never easy going through changes, but in pro sports change comes with the territory. Probably the toughest one for me, the one I still have trouble reconciling, was the Baltimore Colts moving to Indianapolis. I grew up a fan of Johnny U, Raymond Berry, Jim Parker and all those guys, and it still does not seem like the right fit having the Colts in Indy. But that is the world we live in.

Let’s see if we can pull off the sweep today!

Logan Allen has gotten better vs righties this season, but is now struggling vs lefties. Vs another lefty SP’r, but I like our chances.

Hoping to see Liberatore continue pitching well like he did the past 2 games. Also glad I checked the time as boy this one is an early one.

Seems like we are set up to be shut out today. Winning the first two and now facing a lefty – just looks like a repeat of last week. Let’s hope we can flip the script and generate a little (or a lot) of offense.

Bent front knee, drifted, waited hands back and smoothed it. Nice timing.

That swing reminds me of TLR’s advice to Ankiel, “hit for average, your power is natural”.

Oops! Didn’t realize this game was going to start so early. I’ll have to wolf down my did-din of Cantaloupe, oven fried chicken and CiF’s famous potato salad, then hustle downstairs. Hey! Wolf! They should have traded in the name Indians for the Wolves! Those guys might growl a bit about it but wouldn’t complain.

CIF, I know a Mesquite Texas girl that uses your south Tex shopping list 👍
Her family brought us Texas watermelon when they visited Memorial Day. Appears it was mandatory, lol.

    After 3 IP, 0 ER, Libby has used 44 pitches on 12 batters, with a 2/2 bb/k.

Well, I deciphered the process and got this game on the Roku without having to surrender any credit card numbers, last 4 of my SSN, or my dear mother’s maiden name, but I’m having to watch it on the laptop screen. It’s better than nothing, but I’m afraid to touch anything and get a wire crossed…At any rate, I see Gorman’s 3 run tater has given Liberatore something to work with. Hopefully he can keep this lead safe and protected for another 2 or 3 innings.

And I still don’t entirely understand the reasoning or basis for placing these games on the internet. Can’t they squeeze the same amount of revenue from a traditional cable system broadcast?

Doubt it. If a bulk package of 162 games costs “x”, then an exclusive limited sample pays the entry fee, like buying a team. Maybe they eventually auction games off daily if the bidding pool is big enough. We like FM but it’s an AM game today.

    Explain this to me.

I was watching the Padres/Reds game and clicked on the red Score Guide button. It showed St. Louis up 5-0 and under the score said WATCH. So I click on WATCH, it says HD-721, and wala, there’s the game.

I am a DirecTV customer/FanDuel so maybe that’s why. Who knows.

It wasn’t that long ago Libby hit a wall. Is Oli looking for another in the 7th? Hello!

The next time and every time Libby pitches into the 7th i promise to complain. Today was just convenient.

Libby got squeezed on a full count pitch that appeared to be a strike then lost total control and walked the next hitter. Time for the bullpen to nail this one down.

I’m watching this game exactly the same as the others. Using my Amazon Firestick plugged into my 65 inch TV instead of choosing the FanDuel Sports app I simply chose the Roku channel app. FYI – I subscribe to Apple TV + so I watch those games the exact same way by clicking on the Apple TV app.
